Sunderland boss Roy Keane has been tipped to move for Gary Cahill and Phil Bardsley in January - by Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson.
The Blades boss has both Aston Villa stopper Cahill and Manchester United full-back Bardsley at Bramall Lane on three-month loan deals which will expire in the January transfer window.
Both have earned rave reviews with their performances for United and Keane has been a noted spectator.
Robson told the club's official website: "Roy has been at a few of our games recently, maybe watching Cahill and Bardsley. In relation to Cahill, all we can do is wait for (Villa manager) Martin O'Neill to make his decision.
"I would love to keep him until the end of the season but O'Neill will know he can't replace Gary on the cheap."
