The most expensive striker on Liverpool's books won't be in Kiev tonight with the rest of his new teammates but you can bet your life Dirk Kuyt will be passionately cheering the Red men on from his new home in Liverpool. Kuyt, ineligible for this round of the Champions League, stayed behind on Merseyside to work on his fitness but his heart will be with the club as they try to build on a first-leg 2-1 lead against the Israeli champions.
"I am just hoping and praying that the lads beat Haifa. I have never played in the Champions League before and that is why I came to Liverpool. It is one of the things I want to achieve and quickly.
"It is very important for my career to play at this level. I know I need big matches to improve and that means Champions League football."

He may have cost you lads a packet, but I think at his age with his ability, you've got a steal there. He'll be particularly effective in the CL I predict aswell...

yeah i hope so but i hope he doesnt become another Diouf, Cisse or Morientes lol Yeah you have had some bad luck with high profile striker transfers. Everyone was raving about how Morientes would be perfect for the Prem and he rarely seemed to show anywhere near his best. Diouf has turned into one of the most hated players in the country, and Cisse was just not suited to our league I think. He had some great haircuts though.

lol yeah but he still scored 19 goals in the season with being injured not starting every game and being played out of postion every game so 19 goals isnt that bad.
