league in the world....
What do you lot make of it?
For me its not the best, but its up there without a doubt.
Sevilla, espanyol and osasuna in the last eight of the uefa cup, compared with just spurs from the premiership.
The financially bloated top 4 in the premiership aside, la liga is stronger. it's also more competitive, with sevilla coming from nowhere & challenging for the title, real sociedad doing the same a few seasons ago. You don't get that with anyone outside the top 4 here.

I agree entirely. Take away most of the foreign brigade & the level of technical football is quite poor which accounts for England coming up short when it counts. Financial clout doesn't equate to quality as yet. I prefer to watch La Liga or the Apertura for technical yet exciting football after watching Watford of course. Serie A has gone a bit in terms of quality recently same with Ligue Une(dull as ditchwater this season).

i disagree completely. no one in la liga can defend over 38 games barca and real madrid would be mid-table in the prem *full stop*

i disagree completely. no one in la liga can defend over 38 games barca and real madrid would be mid-table in the prem *full stop* You put *full stop* - that must mean its true! Two contrasting styles of play; La Liga being much more technical, more time on the ball etc.. whereas the Prem is much more fast paced, and frantic. To say that neither Barca nor Real would do any better than mid table may hold some truth as they may not be able to cope with the Premierships style of play... Putting the shoe on the other foot so to speak, would Man Utd/Chelsea do that well in La Liga? I don't think so.
