Need your prowling help guys! My dad is stuck with 2 quiz questions and asked me (fuck knows why) to help. I think only the knowledge of the prowlers can help: If 5 GR = 5 Gold Rings, then what are the following: 55 EWA 1884 - Y the FPI - quite clearly 1884 Year the......... 55 EWA Emerald Wedding Anniversary

Sounds like my quiz team of years gone by!
Question was asked - and cluelessly - myself, GfJ and DTR would amble away from the team table (refill glasses, make room for more beer or watch the Spanish Footy) - leaving my old chap to come up with the goods on his jack-jones!
When he got it wrong we used to rip the shit out of him ;D

Anyway - enough of this sensible 'debate' - which soon degenerated into the typical normal corridor content I might add - Pastie's gonna shit when he next come on (loaded with stong ale, red wine or Jamesons [maybe all three]). After a couple of days of subdued activity in the corridor he'll be playing catch up again ;D Oh, I oversee it all...

An interesting couple of pages there, filled with thoughtful and well considered posts. A healthy balance of reflective self criticism blended with positive suggestions which would undoubtedly lead to a range of positive outcomes, the latest pages on here read like an intellectual debate in which the dynamics of this message board are seen as a juxtaposed microcosm of society and human nature as a whole. Rational and thoughtful, you need to get it the hell off my corridor

However, in proper response, cliques are fine. I have no issue with that. Ro is dead right, we on here set a "Corridor Tone" that some people wander (or stagger) in to and hopefully like and return and post crap of a similar nature. I dare say some of the yoof come on here in the daytime, see what appeared late at night and click away not remotely interested. Fair enough. I, equally, have no interest in how people are doing with their Maths coursework, so I don't look.
I think the main point in Si's row was that people were posting up things here that just were not responsible. I'm no fan of banning but we have to accept that there are all sorts of people on here who need protecting (whether they like it or not) and if you post porn, disturbing images or violence then you get kicked out. If people bicker and spat, let them get on with it if they must.
The positive suggestion about a "burning issues" board is an excellent idea. Without doubt the thing we lost when the BBC 606 became a waste of time was the passing contacts and the appeal for through trade. You have to either be following one particular team that is well represented on here or to be well established to even know your way around. Who, after all, would stumble in new and find there way here, mysteriously tucked away among the Games and JOkes?

Who, after all, would stumble in new and find there way here, mysteriously tucked away among the Games and JOkes? And have to say the corridors / prowlers threads used to be proudly 'pinned' on the general board. To appease general day-time posters it was was moved to our existing location (because of it being cliquey - and to be honest too high brow for day-timer posters to fully comprehend) I might go for the general footy debate 'announcement' (will automatically be pinned to all boards at the top) to encourage interaction between 'social groups' on 606 anyway. If it crashes and burns so be it - but worth a try! As to getting new posters I've been banned from UKTV Gold message boards this week (only posted 4 times - miserable bar stewards)

SOP And got an early Leeds kick of on Saturday plus an afternoon / evening of GfJ (and beer) and family before the Hatton fight. Coupled with a missus who has done 6 twelve hour night shifts on the trot (who'll be tetchy as hell anyway) it's gonna be a test of my testicular fortitude Glad I ain't marking captions on Sunday ;D SOP
