Si mate! Re our exchange of e-mails today! Yes, the wife will have worked 60 hours come Saturday (and she's doing a 2-8 Sunday afternoon ). She doesn't fancy strolling down to "Chez Si & Sarah" - but you are more than welcome to come round ours. Angie won't be cooking but if anyone get's a tad peckish she'll whack a few pizzas in the oven in need be. Late after-noon is funky! Stellas will be suitably chilled by then and I'm sure I can rustle up a bottle or four for the ladies

Mrs PASTIE turned the PC off last night So I'm going to the pub in a minute after my FOURTH consecutive Wednesday night parents' evening You can tell you work in 'big' school! I hate my daughter's primary school as their parent evenings are usually between 4pm and 6pm! Guess PS teachers like to hit the pubs early doors. My lad's High School parent evenings are usually over for 8.00pm though (but he's such a little sod invariably we're meeting his house tutors, Head of House or Deputy Heads during office hours ). That and a day set aside for 'target setting' ;D

I'm sure I can ensure we're fed prior to our arrival. Right, serious bit now as this has been on my mind for a while of late. I apologise to the Prowlers, although not all of you as some of you are fuckwits. The thing is I'm leaving the board for a while. I've had my doubts about this place for the last few weeks and I really do not want to be a part of it for the forseeable future because: a) It's properly pissing me off reading all the immature bollocks posted by people who should know better b) The discussions on the general threads during the day time are way over the top and people need to remember that there are some younger posters on here. Not least my eldest who I've banned from using this site given the current penchent of certain posters who do nothing but post threads of an extremely sick and sexual nature. Christ, I'm no prude so if I'm uncomfortable with the goings on here then something's got to be wrong with the place. Yeah I know this rant seems like the pot calling the kettle black but this site really has taken a turn for the worse of late. I'm bored with it and bored reading the same old bollocks day in and day out. The only thread that seems worth partaking off is this thread but finding fellow prowlers of an evening, when I'm on line, seems like finding a needle in a haystack more often than not. Keep prowling people. I may drop in from time to time for a read. I'm not deleting my account, but I've got better things to do with my time than spend time on this site in the current climate. Right goodnight and goodbye from me GFJ Out.

But can see where you're coming from. Hence my own very selective postings on threads! Christ - I'm even now posting sport related threads

Good to see DTR and I hope that GFJ finds his way to the corridor soon.
The fact is that I've only ever been very selective where I head in this site and the good bits are great. The rest is huge but largely not really of much appeal. Sports threads and good humour are where its at; nit-picking and vendettas I get enough of in the day job! However, there are without doubt things posted on here and images added that I don't need to see, let alone anybody who might be damaged or disturbed by them. I woudl certainly be wary of letting my own kids have access to this. We need to be self disciplined on here and recognise just how open access this all is or we risk losing people like Si for reasons I fully sympathise with.
Its a good rant full of things for people to think about. I hope you come back soon to keep the standards high.

Great - another happy customer!! Some members on these boards need to take a long hard look at themselves, because it'll end up with them arguing between themselves long after everyone else has gone! we cant afford to lose people like Si - regular, loyal members who contribute to the boards success. Si...PM me if you read this, i'd like a chat about what you said mate!

Bring him back! And we're not customers - we cohabit, therefore have to take responsibility for ourselves plus, FFS, not let anybody con us into taking this place seriously. Ro, make sure that Si keeps in touch with those of us who would miss his merry Prowling - we 606 refugees from the old days need to stick together. And lets get GB back whilst we're at it

Mike,
I'm seeing Si on Saturday - no doubt this subject will be broached; and hopefully over a few beers we can sort out what the exact problems are and whether or not there's something we as staff can do, without pissing off too many posters, but maintaining stability and increasing posting / usage of the boards!

Good man RO - and find out who it is exactly that is pissing him off! I think it's more about the 'what' rather than the 'who' - but I think they'll be pretty much linked together anyway! And I think it'll echo sentiments Mozza has made in the past about the lack of serious football debate / issues and too much of chit-chat (which I believe contributes to the problems of attracting new members).

CHIT-CHAT is fine, its the subject matter that is the problem! the football boards (leeds, Spurs, derby, Wolves etc) are busy but we need more proper fans - ive been doing a bit of advertising on some London boards but no joy yet! we need to rally the troops into going out and finding new fans!

Just like Sky "Introduce a friend and both receive £35 of M&S Vouchers" ;D
There's no limit to the number of friends you can introduce.
That said I've emailing the site link to various footy fans I know through from work - it's more Wolves fans tbh - but a spattering of Liverpool, Stoke and even a few Birmingham fans!
