Filled ith threads about Fed up with three o'clock closing... and they don't even get moderated. Its a shame that its own popularity killed it off. Its a shame that resources that could have kept it open are keeping the boards for things like Eastenders open. I bet those boards are not as over moderated as the Sports ones. This may soon be the unofficial official board anyway.

Agree. A victim of its own success. So what if people went off topic? There was still plenty of footie talk going on as well.

Half of football IS the banter!
I mean, once you have decided who the best team is, all there is to do is have a laugh, and start polls about who is the least attractive silicon-enhanced babe (guys), or hottest player (girls & Millwall fans)*
Are they trying to say that every post on the gardening forum is about herbacious borders? My hydrangia is better than your peaonie...

I'm a regualr on TMS - never seems to have any problems with Servers! I'd have thought all MBs were on the same server! Simply re-allocate memory / space from Eastenders, Politics, Books, Poetry and Food for 606! Rocket science it ain't

Agreed. Successful though this site is we miss the passing trade of 606 and its demise is sadly missed.
There has to be scope for the off topic and the wind ups. I can (and do) talk to everyone else about football all day long!
Saying that, if it is ever resurrected, 606 could learn a lot from some of what is going on here.

Unlikely to though! This time of night is alcohol fuelled expressionism (not sure it's PC on BBC now).
Having said that most of the 606 IT team are probably bladdered around the capital as we type!

You think they let them out? I'd always assumed that they just boxed them up at 10 (now bloody three)

You think they let them out? I'd always assumed that they just boxed them up at 10 (now bloody three) That's the problem - treat the programming team like kindergarten/ nursery attendees that's how they'll think! Think that's I got banned when all these problems on 606 arose. I suggested sacking 20 of the 60 MB service team. Might have touched a sore point me thinks

But that's too simple for the Beeb - get rid of 20 staff saving what £400-500k p.a. More than enough to purchase a decent reliable platform on which to host the boards.

I blame our admin staff.
They love their jobs, they care about their teams, and they have made this a better place to post than the BBC boards.
Until their teams beat Plymouth, in which case, I hate them. ;D
