THE most powerful financial big-hitters in Cardiff met today with the aim of buying Jason Koumas for the Bluebirds.
They will be asked to invest up to £50,000 each to enable the club to buy Koumas immediately - and every investor would effectively part own the player!
Cardiff City have agreed a fee of £2m for the talented Koumas, a talisman whose arrival would spark a new rush of season ticket sales. But City don't have the £500,000 down-payment needed to clinch a deal with West Brom, who own the Welsh international.
There could also be a problem meeting the wage demands of Koumas, in excess of £10,000 a week.
Albion want £1.5m guaranteed - in three equal instalments - plus another £500,000 based on appearances and promotion
Today's meeting will call on the businessmen to invest £50,000 or £25,000 to help Cardiff City's quest for Premiership status.
Organiser Giovanni Malacrini wants to raise at least half a million pounds and possibly more to help with wages and agents fees.
He believes a Cardiff team in the Premiership would be a massive boost to business in and around the city - just as FA Cup finals at the Millennium Stadium have proved.
If Cardiff City are promoted to the Premiership then investors will get their £50,000 stake back and retain their stake in Koumas' contract, while if the player is sold they would each receive one thirtieth of the fee.
Everybody involved will be credited with an 'ownership certificate'.
