Have you been to any games abroad whilst on holiday?
I went out to Israel about two years ago and went to Maccabi Tel-Aviv against Hapoel Tel-aviv. The game and atmosphere was totally incredible, The colours on display aswell were in such vivid contrast. Maccabi Tel-Aviv won the game 2-1 and every time a goal went in the place erupted into a mad world of cheering flag waving and coloured flares. Maccabi Played in Yellow and Blue, Hapoel in red and Black, as you can imagine in an open air stadium with the flares and the noise, all at night, it really was quite an experience. Very much an experience I would recomend to anyone.
Anyone else been to such games?

This summer I saw a match in germany (well two) I think it was called the "League Cup Final" or something like that .. it was; Shalke v Karlsruher Werder Bremen v Bayern Munich MASSIVE *&& GREAT GROUND too ! 4 sets of fans in one ground,, great atmosphere,, some fans are absolutely hilarious I swear,, and we ended up talking to some English people during the break of the first match to the second match and ended up with a few drinks there .. Only needing to be 16 to drink in Germany is good,, even if I wasnt 16 for like 2 or so weekd before then .. Having four different sets of fan in one ground for like 5 hours would of been hell in England; fans all in their own areas of the ground but the odd ones (especially if they have come with friends) obviously went in a certain section) .. Even so I didnt see no trouble happening .. Singing was dead loud, amazing atmosphere etc .. ___ A few seasons ago now I saw Barcelona v Osasouna (sp?) .. Barca won 3-0 and I sat on the top row,, AMAZING GROUND,, even seen some baggies fans which made the match a lot more fun ;D .. Lots of Irish and Chinese people also there .. Next day went for the tour around the inside of the stadium and the outline of the pitch,, even more amazing,, instead of a trophy cabinet they have a whole trophy floor .. The entrance and walking through looks like a museum .. MASSIVE .. Loved it ;D

went to watch the Olympic football in Crete during the Athens 2004 Olympics. I saw USA ladies beat Greece ladies 3-0 in the opening game of the tournament and then saw half of Australia play Turkey in the same stadium stright after. Nice stadium and the only food they had at the food bars was cheese and ham sandwiches and water! Security was very strict and people we still coming in at half time during the first game as the greek security checks were soooo slow lol

Melbourne Victory 3 Sydney FC 2 in 2006 at Telstra Dome, Melbourne.
Was a decent game but the biggest winner on that day was Australian soccer. It was the biggest crowd in the sport's history in Australia and was broadcast across the nation....and they saw a really good match.
Think I enjoyed the AFL games at the MCG more whilst I was there though, just to watch a completely different sport they are all crazy about over there...even if it is a bit odd.

Barcelona vs Alaves, Jan 2006. Not a bad match. Ronaldinho missed a penalty though, and we jeered a bit... evil looks ensued Alaves were/are shite though, and at 72,000 odd attendance the Nou Camp looked empty!
