I hope it's with one of the big clubs. He deserves it.

Bolton have apparently put in a club record £7m bid in for him (if you believe the Daily Mirror).
Wigan have bid £5m.

I don't think the bid could have been cold hard cash up front or SJ would have snapped the Bolton arm off!!

Newcastle spent big last season on Luque and Owen. Nowt to spend unless they get some money from selling first. Why do you think Roeder got the job? The Toon are skint! Newcastle and Man City don't have money to burn... they've both spent big recent

I think you should have accepted £8million, he's not worth more than that, you could buy quite a few good players with that

We need the money up front - that was not the bid that Bolton made.

Yeah, seems likely now. Wigan made a cash upfront bid - it all now depends on whether AJ wants to play for them. I gather Everton were his first choice.

That's a lot of money for a very over-rated striker! From everything I read he's under-rated. Only Jordan appears to over-rate him (and maybe Paul Jewell ).

That's a lot of money for a very over-rated striker! 85 goals in 161 games. What's to over-rate?

Needs a premier club to showcase what he can really do. I'm sure he wanted a perceived 'bigger' club to make a bid but may have to do with one of the lesser lights. Scored a few when he was last in premiership in a poor team - albeit a fair few penalties - so maybe he can live up to the £8mil price tag.
