Derby are set to sign Coventry striker Michael Mifsud for £200,000 but have released Darren Powell. (The Sun)
Mind you, Mifsud is also linked with Norwich so who knows.....and hardly the most reliable source! He is out of contract in the summer.

(The Sun) Mind you, Mifsud is also linked with Norwich so who knows.....and hardly the most reliable source! He is out of contract in the summer. Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has denied this morning's story saying that Derby County wanted Michael Mifsud for £200,000. According to the CT, Chris Coleman laughed at the story which had been in the Sun and said "£200,000 - That might buy one leg!" One un-named club had agreed a fee for Mifsud but the deal collapsed when the forward who earns around £8k a week playing for Coventry City could not agree personal terms

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce was at Pride Park last night for the FA Cup game between Derby County and Nottingham Forest doing a little bit of scouting.
Of all the players on view the only one that really caught the eye was Derby County attacking midfield prodigy Giles Barnes who has recently returned to the side following a long lay-off with a serious knee injury
dont think clough will sell

DERBY County are believed to be eyeing Motherwell striker Chris Porter. The 25-year-old was thought to be on his way for a medical with Cardiff City yesterday after the Bluebirds had a £400,000 bid for the player accepted. But now Porter is said to be considering other options and one of those could be a move to Derby. It would not be a surprise to see manager Nigel Clough try to boost his attacking options before the transfer window closes at 5pm on Monday. The deadline has been extended because of the weekend. Derby are short of goals – they have failed to score in their last four Championship matches – and have slipped into the bottom three. Porter has netted nine goals in 21 starts this season for Motherwell, who are seventh in the Scottish Premier League. The 6ft 1in Wigan-born forward has hit 27 goals in 65 games in his career at Fir Park since signing in July, 2007, from Oldham Athletic, where he scored 31 times in 75 games. His current deal with Motherwell expires in the summer and manager Mark McGhee has decided to cash in on the player, who has also been linked with Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield Town, Sheffield United and Hearts. "At this moment in time, Chris Porter hasn't made a decision," said McGhee. "We've accepted an offer from Cardiff and have handed it over to Porter, who is away speaking with family and whoever else he speaks to, and he will make a decision as to whether he thinks it's the right thing for him. "It's not a case of preferring to cash in. It's a case of necessity. "The reality is that is what our club does. We produce players that we sell and that's how the club continues and finances itself, by a combination of the gate money, TV money and the sale of an occasional player." www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/fo...l/article.html
