It baffles even me, how inconsistent we are. But we are not a club for continuity are we? I mean there's always change going on at the club. Players going in, players going out. And likewise, with managers. So its no surprise that we've struggled this season and our form has been strange. We havent kept the spine of the side from last season and thus we have suffered. We dont have the target man to play the formation that won us so many plaudits on our travels last season. We dont have George Burley, who was building a side capable of promotion, until he was forced out by this inept board of directors. If we had kept Rasiak and Huddlestone, and Burley was still at the helm and built on what we had, we probably would be where Reading are right now. But our financial situation or lack of investment from the current board and also poor decision-making (lack of footballing nous and taking a gamble, in the case of Phil Brown's appointment ) on the behalf of the board has led to a season to forget.
All we can do is hope Gadsby and Co. take over sooner rather than later, so this nightmare can end and we can build for a bright future!
