I think it was because of his fitness, so Brown would only offer an incentive-based contract, which he rejected.

Yep. Brown's signings having exactly filed the supporters with any sense of excitement, and when we could have ha players like Roy O'Donovan, who is now being linked with Fulham, it anoys the hell out of me. The only reason we haven't got the young lad is because the chairman didn't want to delve deep into his pockets, for around £600k, which is now what we are planning on spending on Alan frigging Lee!
