Well, crap performance first half is all i can say really Second half, after the introduction of Welsh (Andrews was shit in the first half, and he is a crap player anyway, i hate him!), City started playing more fluently. I thought Welsh and Marney played great in the middle, and will be a class partnership this season, with Welshy happy to sit back while Marney pushes on. Brilliant goal from the Tigers, superb incisive pass from Welsh to the wing were Duffy played a brilliant ball to the head of Fagan who easily knocked it in to the net. There were occasions were our defending looked a bit shaky, but other times when the defence looked solid. However overall i thought we held out the French League Cup winners' attack quite well, with good defending in comparison to the Peter Taylor defending regime. Alex

Agree entirely with that summation Alex, alothough we should have had a penalty in the first half when they hand balled four feet above the wall from the free kick! Marney was much quiter today.

Ahh yes, i remember the penalty claim! I remember jumping up and giving the slightest bit of shouting and then remember it was a friendly and i was one of the only people actually stood up claiming the penalty! Marney was quieter than Villa, but you could still see his running around chasing down players, which you would not have seen under the Taylor reign. Most signs looking good ;D

Looks like Birmingham only just managed a 1-1 with Nancy- the result looks better in hindsight
