Boss Jim Magilton has confirmed that Town have accepted a bid from Rangers for keeper Neil Alexander and that he is currently in talks with the SPL giants regarding a move to Ibrox. The 29-year-old is believed to be leaving the Blues for a fee of £500,000. Magilton told the club site: "It is a dream move for Neil and we couldn't stand in his way. "He is back in the Scotland national squad and we are aware that he is very keen to push his international ambitions and a move back to Scotland will enhance that.
"It has been difficult for his family to settle in the area. Their friends are in Scotland, so a move to Rangers makes sense for many reasons.
"It's a great opportunity for him and we wish him well.
"We are now lining up a replacement from the Premiership and are confident we will have a new keeper in place inside the next 24 hours."

He's a good keeper, you'll miss him. Better than what we have at Cardiff now (despite our glorious march towards the top of the table...)

S'pose he's not been there long enough. He was very popular at Cardiff, a lot of people were pissed off that we didn't renew his contract. Yeah it's alright, not silly money. As a keeper he could have another 7 seasons though or more. Hey - it could have been his dream to play for Celtic, but you're right, not many people would stay at Ipswich if an offer came in from Rangers - no disrespect, same goes for Cardiff!

I was reading somewhere that he had never saved a penalty in his career before this season or something.
Hasn't he now saved three this season? pretty good going.

I feel we could have got more money out of Rangers as at 29 he is probably not yet at his peak.
Sorensen is rumoured to be wanting out at Villa!

He has now officially gone, signing a three and a half year deal.
Not bad financially to get him for free and sell at £500,000 only 6 months later
