The stewards outside the ground were friendly, which was quite a welcoming change. With only about 350 fans at the ground, it probably made the concourse seem quite spacious, i had a cup of tea - needed a hot drink to wake me up after an immensley boring (doing written college work) and uncomfortable (our ONE fan coach was very poor leg room) journey. The ground is quite nice, though the britannia stand could do with a bit of maintenance - a tad old. The match programme was a pretty good read as i waited for the game to start with good pre-match entertainment - Cheerleaders, I didn't have my glasses on so hopefully they werent young and i don't sound like a paedo, but they looked old enough to me. The atmopshere from the Ipswich fans was totally gash, so we were left to have banter with about 5 chavy boys in the stand behind the goal. chants of 'theres only 5 names in ipswich' and 'your mum's got genital warts' were quite amusing as our fans although low in numbers made a fair bit of noise. Legroom wasn't a problem either, as i stood for much of the game. The game itself wasn't much of a spectacle, the first goal was a massive flukey deflection and the second a good header from a cross. No team really dominated the match and each team had a few good chances - Adam Hammill with a lovely chip that hit the inside of the post was the best chance we had. A draw would have been a fair result, but we were left cursing our tactically and motivationally inept manager and our poor run of luck with regards to injuries to our backline. Was a decent away day, not the best, not the worst and i shall be in attendance again to Portman Road next season, providing we haven't been relegated or Ipswich promoted. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)
