The article is on our main website, and has been covered on skysports news. An investor is looking to take £32 mill of the debt, plus £12 mill more being made available by shares.
Can't remember the guy who's on about this, but he's commented at how he wants too as well, so its not just Sheepshanks getting our hopes up.
Won't believe it until its happened, but seems it could within the next month or two........
'The Board unanimously believes that the offer is in the best interests of all stakeholders and intends, subject to contract and due diligence, to recommend it to shareholders. Full details will be circulated to shareholders in due course after which they will be asked to vote on the transaction at a general meeting.'
opinions !? im in one of shock delight and amazement !!!! IF IF IF it happens,,,,,,,we really are going places and i mean that

ive really got 2 laugh at norwich now this is because of some IDIOTIC fans ( not u canary girl i like ya ur nice ) its so ironic a comment !!! 1 retarded Norwich fan was laughing about our debt saying " end of the season u'll be losing £5 mill more than u r now due to different reasons how r u gonna manage that on top of ur £36 mill debt " well u can FUCK OFF !!!! hahahah even if norwich win, ur still JOINT BOTTOM ! if we win tho ,,,,,,,, n thats a really big IF ,,,,,,, looking a tricky season at Carrot Road ? i cant really understand whats going on uve got ( hurts to say this ) one of THE BEST set of loyal supporters at least at home, donno how u travel. Potentially u could pack out a 35,000, maybe even 40,000 seater stadium in the prem i feel ! just for the life in me can't understand how its going sooo wrong
anyway back to the title of this post - lets try not to go off at a tangent like we always tend to do........ the investment is great news IF it goes through that is ! thanks dudette ( Mr Evans ! )

Marcus Evans has written an open letter to Ipswich Town fans in response to a letter from the Evening Star editor. The Evening Star editor called for Evans to introduce himself before the East Anglian derby, this was his response:
I am writing to thank you for what has been one of the most spectacular and emphatic thank you letters I have ever had in my career! It was great to hear that the majority of people feel that the club will benefit from being in a stronger financial position going forward. I would particularly like to thank David Sheepshanks, the shareholders and the management for welcoming my interests and support.
Your letter has given me one difficulty to which I want to respond to directly and openly. I have a young family and, to date, my wife, kids and I have been able to enjoy a life of relative anonymity.
The reason I have never given an interview is that I have never sought the high profile that can come with business success. In writing to you, I want to explain to the fans that, whilst I fully appreciate their curiosity, I hope that they can understand my wish to allow my family to lead as normal a life as possible. I am buying into the club because I want it to succeed, not because I want to raise my own profile.
You very kindly suggested that I should come and receive a cheer from the crowd. I actually believe that the crowd should be cheering David, Jim and the players this Sunday. I believe that people go to matches to cheer the players in their team, not the owners! Certainly, when I come to matches that is what I do!
Sadly, and to avoid disappointing you on the day, I cannot be at the derby game this Sunday as I have to travel on business. You will appreciate my business is spread over 35 countries, which means spending a lot of time on aeroplanes. I can assure you that I shall be willing the team on to success just like all the other supporters.
Importantly, I fully appreciate what the club means to the town and the special relationship that exits between the team and the fans. I intend to do everything I can to support these very important relationships.
So, please accept my apologies. I am hoping that people will understand that I both wish the club the very best of good fortune and that they will come to understand my desire to be out of the limelight, and hopefully these two desires can be compatible. David Sheepshanks, our chairman, plays a great role as our club's ambassador and I see no need for this to change.
Finally, please appreciate that the deal still needs to be formally concluded. It would be presumptuous of me to take any applause until the whistle has blown!
Warmest regards and best wishes.
Marcus Evans

News coming out from the club today:
[/b]
Evans is set to take an 87.5% stake in the club, clear its £32m debts and inject an additional £12m.
The current Ipswich board is expected to stay in place but with less power, while three representatives of Evans are reportedly set to join the board.
In a letter to shareholders, Ipswich chairman David Sheepshanks described the deal as "an extremely good outcome."
He added: "We wanted to find someone who would maintain Ipswich Town's culture and values.
"Marcus Evans has demonstrated his understanding of the club's heritage and the board believes the club's future will be safe in his hands."[/quote]
