Hey-ho, what can you do? After a crazy last 5 minutes you end up 4-0 down.
First half we got nearly everything wrong, gave them room on the wings, crowded the middle too much and had no bite in our attack. We were pretty piss poor first half, although the first two minutes (yes!!) we started brightly.
The second half however we came out much better. We started well, we attacked strongly and managed to string passes together. We got rid of the long ball that we had tried to play in the first half and played to our feet. However, the right wing was still VERY vunerable. To be honest, we dominated this half, and I think that us (i.e. the fans) were pretty good - singing at every oppurtunity and attempting to spur the team on. Our best chance came to Alan Lee, who hit the post, and it was chances like these that we were punished for in the last five minutes. The last five minutes were just insane. We were trying so hard to attack that our defence was going to be breeched, and once that second goal went in, our confidence just faded and heads dropped. Instead of attempting to get a consolation goal, we blasted it over the bar and allowed more West Brom attacks at our weary defence.
We didn't deserve to lose 4-0. In fact, on the balance of the second half I don't think we deserved to lose. But if you don't take your chances, you're always going to pay for them.
My MOTM was Garvan, I thought he performed well in midfield. He managed to string some passes together. When Peters came on, he was hasseling their wings, and it was good to see.
Anywho, come on Town, we can bounce back.
(By the way, a funny moment came when the annoucer at the Hawthorns pronouced Counago's surname wrong. He then vowed that; "next time I'll get it right". So, come the pre kick-off team annoucements, we thought he might've learnt how to say it correctly. And he said it the same way as he did first time - provoking some titters from the Blue Army.
