TWTD understands that Town are close to announcing an agreement regarding the restructuring of their debt, paving the way for new investment into the club.
A national newspaper report at the weekend revealed that a Town takeover was on the cards, however, this seemed highly unlikely until the club had found a solution to their debts totalling £36 million.
We understand that potential investors have been involved in the club's negotiations with Morley, which are likely to see the bond debt reduced by two-thirds to around £10 million.

My dad told me about this earlier.
Great to see the club finally able to attract investors. Just hope its true.
Would be great to see the days when we can be competitive in the transfer market again.
Having said that, Jim has done an amazing job with transfers this season, both permanent and loan (bar Jon Maken lol)

The Town manager has also confirmed that once the club's takeover has gone through, he will have cash to spend: "It would mean being able to bring quality into the building. I would be able to give a list to the chairman and say 'go and get them'". another hint its gonna happen YES come on please be true !!!!!!!! Jim SURELY wouldn't come out n say " when its gone thru i have money 2 spend " unless it was VERY likely 2 happen !

David Sheepshanks has confirmed that any significant investment in Town will be voted on by the club's 3,792 shareholders. A report earlier in the week claimed that Sheepshanks and chief executive Derek Bowden had already agreed to sell the club, however the chairman dismissed this as speculation. cant remember a shareholder vote on the horizon before..... wish i cud go forward in time a month n see how its progressing

This has been a really big story in the EAST this week (even making the front page when it was first reported) I hope it's nothing dodgy to be honest... But extra investment would be fantastic, and I hope it happens!

This better bloody happen because it's the one thing we've got going against us in trying to get promoted any time soon - no financial clout. A bit of cash and we might be able to get somewhere, cos with TV deals and whatnot as they are, you've got to have the dough to get ahead these days.

The current squad is more than enough of a foundation towards promotion IMO, all we need as NCA said is some financial backing, just to bring in those few signings that are the difference between promotion contendors and mid-tables mediocrety, which unfortunately we haven't had for a long time. As said earlier, Jim surely wouldn't say anyhting along the lines of "when the deal goes through I'll have cash to spend" unless it was a distinct possibility. Just hope its true and not all just over-blown speculation ...fingers crossed

I agree, all we need is a bit of consistency and the squad's there. Jim's made some cracking loan signings this year in my opinion. Financial backing and we could be looking up!

Yeah, totally agree that consistancy has been a huge problem this season. The only 'run' we've been on was the 6 match unbeaten period that was ended by Colchester at Layer Road.
Having said that we've had a pretty strong end to the season, 11 games, W-6, D-2 and L-3. Hopefully we'll be ending this season as we mean to start next as Jim has been trying to drum into the team recently

Ahh yeah, that September run was great. The Southend match was terrible, and when we went the whole of February without scoring (which cost us a possible semi-final place in the FA Cup) was very frustrating. Although we've scored 5 goals this season. Hopefully a carnival atmosphere at the ground on Sunday, and a bright end to the season!

Yeah February certainly was shocking. Thing is we wern't playing THAT badly. Particularly the Watford game, I was there and I'd say it was one of the best performances of the season. Yeah, hopefully a great atmosphere on sunday, I'm looking forward to it

I was there too, it was a great day and a great performance, and we deserved to win. But that's football I went to Southampton the week after and we were shocking first half but a little better second (same happened at Norwich)... I am too! Doing my usual getting autographs at the end. Where do you sit?

Yeah, should have won, but as you say thats football, on another day we'll play awful and win, the way it works sometimes.
Only started going to away games this season, and still it was only 3. WIll be driving next season though, so will hopefully get to more.
I sit in the cobbold. Block T, Row D, Seat 83, how about yourself?
I always hear of people getting autographs but never know where you go to get em. Could be enlighten me?
I have a signed shirt from our season of finishing 3rd, it has Kevin Horlock, Kelvin Davis, Ian Westlake, Shekfi Kuqi, James Scowcroft and the legendary Tommy Miller.

I usually persuade my parents to take me, I'm 16 in September, so hopefully they'll let me go to one by myself, depends how much they trust me and how much it costs. I sit in the Brittania Stand (second tier), Block F, Row H, my seat number varies by the tunnel. Injured players and players wives sit in a box behind us! Yeah sure mate! You know where the reception and practice pitch is, next to the Brittania? Well you go there. I think they've introduced a barrier, but if you go through the exit gates by the South Stand, and come through. It's the players car park basically. I've got a shirt that I've had for ages, and it's got people like Matt Holland, Darren Bent, Tommy Miller on it. I keep on getting it signed each year, just for sentimental purposes really. I was going to get it framed, but it looks better on a hanger next to my old middle school shirt!

Yeah I know the where that is cheers. Not sure about where the exit of the South Stand is, not been in there since that FA Cup defeat to Man City. Will have to have a nosey down there. Yeah same with my shirt, would have liked it framed, but pinning it to the wall is all thats happend so far, I'm sure the hangar adds character really lol
