RICHARD WRIGHT TO RETURN?!

Like I'd said before, this news is by no means official yet. However, there have been developments on two fronts:
1. The Daily Mirror is now also linking Wright with a summer return to Ipswich in addition to the News of the World
2. Jim Magilton has refused to rule out the possibility of a deal, but insists that at the moment, "it's all speculation"...

Hmmmm.....

It seems, absolutely out of the blue, that Richard Wright is nearing completion of a free transfer deal to return to Ipswich!

According to TWTD, tabloid reports linking the former Ipswich keeper with a return are well founded, as Everton and Town are nearing a conclusion and the player is expected to arrive back at Portman Road by July 12!!

It's yet to be officially confirmed, obviously, and it's always wise to remain sceptical until the official confirmation comes through, but if this does happen, what do you think? The one issue comes from the likelihood of either Price or Supple (and in my opinion I'd rather see Supple leave but it would probably be Price) leaving the club. I agree we need someone with experience and this might be the answer, but I don't want to see Price shut out as a result because I think Price is going to develop into the next Welsh No.1 if he gets regular action.

Supples kicking isnt great tho, that one he slipped for at norwich cud have been dodgy

Yeah, I have concerns about both their kicking abillity, although looking at it Supple's saves are marginally better. He'll learn though, is he even 20 yet?

I posted on another board recently that we could swap one of our young un's for him...but gawd dang...didn't realise he was available on a free!!!!!

Sell Price, he won't take sitting on the bench and we might get half a mill for him.

I think this would be a good signing. We need experience in goal, and although both Price and Supple are amazing young talents I'm sure they would only benefit from Wrighty's precence.

Can't see them both sticking around though, one of them would become a 3rd choice keeper then and whichever of the two that finds themselves in that position will see it as a step backwards.

Although I think Supple is a great young talent I am a bigger fan of Price. I feel a bit nervy whenever we have to put Supple in goal.

As someone mentioned earlier, I think we could get a good half mill for Shane and that would go a long way towards a possible permanant signing of Franny Jeffers
