thanks for clearing it up well 1 year left on his deal,,,,,,, how much wud he go for ?! Blackburn have enough money and don't seem to need him with McCarthy, Nonda, Derbyshire so i can't see them wanting to much but Hughes was reluctant to see him go on loan for the rest of the season so he must still have a role to play. Can't believe last night was his first goal for nearly two years!

Read in the paper this morning that he's unlikely to stay more than a month.

TWTD said that too. Disappointing, and I wouldn't expect us to be able to keep him any longer than the rest of this season anyway. But you never know.

and what do the papers ever know ? which newspaper for starters ?! My local one, East Anglian Story thingy: THERE appears to be little chance of Francis Jeffers staying beyond his one-month loan spell, according to his Blackburn boss Mark Hughes. The 26-year-old striker inspired the Blues to a 5-2 win at hapless Hull City on Tuesday night with an equaliser, an assist in Alan Lee's goal and helping in the build-up to Jaime Peters' deflected strike. It was only his second goal in 30 games - the other was a penalty for Rovers in their UEFA Cup win over Basle - and he has joined Ipswich Town to regain his confidence and scoring touch. Hughes insists Jeffers is still very much in his thoughts even though he dropped down the pecking order with the emergence of Matt Derbyshire, and the form of David Bentley and Benni McCarthy, while on-loan Roma ace Shabani Nonda has also figured regularly. He said: “Frannie has been a little unfortunate this season, inasmuch as Matt Derbyshire has come to the fore and done exceptionally well for me, so in the next month or so he probably would not have got a great deal of football. “He just wants to play. He hasn't had a great deal of football and I think it will benefit him if he gets some games under his belt. Then, for the last month or so, he can come back here and be an option for us.” The former Arsenal and Everton striker still has another year and three months on his current Rovers contract and would be too expensive for Ipswich to sign on a permanent basis. Although personally Derek Davis is an idiot, but if it's something Mark Hughes has said, then

For a striker to score his first goal in 2-years is incredible, remember he was playing for Charlton and Rangers during that period and was getting games.

That's going to be his only goal for us. He's back to Blackburn, he's got a hamstring injury.
Crying shame that the bloke's so injury prone. Bloke (awesome and funny, just thought I'd add that) behind me at the match today said; "He must've spent half of his career on the sidelines".

Francis Jeffers has been forced to end his loan spell at Ipswich early and has returned to Blackburn after suffering a hamstring injury against Southend. The 26-year-old was two weeks into a month-long loan spell and had made an immediate impact scoring against Hull.
Jeffers has had a scan which revealed the extent of the problem.
Ipswich physio Dave Williams said: "Franny has a grade two tear in the hamstring and it means he's likely to be out a number of weeks."
He began his career at Everton before Arsenal paid £8m for him in June 2001.
Charlton then forked out £2.6m for the striker and he spent two years at Charlton before joining Blackburn last July.
He has picked up one England cap to date, marking his debut with the consolation goal in England's 3-1 defeat by Australia in 2003.
Jeffers scored in Ipswich's recent 5-2 win at Hull and was proving popular with the Town fans.
