Ipswich Town have signed Blackburn striker Francis Jeffers on a month's loan and he could play against QPR if the paperwork is completed in time.

According to the Town website, we have signed an "England international ", a bit of an exaggeration i think. He played once 4 years ago and reading that i thought we'd bought Rooney.

IT'S ABOUT FUCKING TIME, JIM!!!! I've been waiting for us to sign a decent striker on loan for a while. I know Jeffers doesn't have a particularly special record (certainly not helped by injury) but even Joe Royle was after him over a year ago and we've finally landed him! Here's hoping Franny shakes things up cos we are dead up front at the moment and I'm getting sick of it.

I'll be honest. I thought that signing Jeffers wasn't a great idea. What with his past injury problems and his scoring record sice he left everton have been poor, and sort of thought it may continue with us. I'm please that last nigths game he was so involved, and from what I understand the previous game he was unlucky not to get one then as well. If he manages to carry this on and we sign him for rest of season i'd be happy for Jim to pay 500,000 for him

injury proneness makes me a bit scared of parting with £500,000
