Ipswich defender Fabian Wilnis did not break his foot during Saturday's 2-0 Championship defeat at Crystal Palace.
Wilnis was substituted at half-time following a heavy challenge from Palace's Dougie Freedman.
But despite fears of a possible break, the 36-year-old has been reassured by the medical team at Portman Road.
Wilnis told the club's website: "The physio team say it's badly bruised and we will see how it progresses during the week."
