Ipswich captain Jason de Vos has been ruled out of action for at least six weeks with a metatarsal injury. The 33-year-old defender will see a specialist to confirm the extent of the injury concerning his fifth metatarsal. Ipswich's head of sports science told the club website: "We're looking at six weeks out and it could be longer. "He has broken the bone before and has a screw in it. It looks like he's cracked it this time but we will know more when he sees the specialist." Oh it's like the 2005/2006 season all over again

I'm not going to worry too much as it just means a bit of a shuffle about and a chance for some of the other players including Sito and Ian Miller

That's how much it means to me though. "Oh God! Alan Lee's right leg is bigger than his left!" (then I go into a complete panic that involves running around the garden like a looney... ) In all seriousness, I love it. Sport is my life (may not give the impression of it, but it is. I'll sit and watch anything just to avoid watching Eastenders...) I am really happy (yes, you read right ) with the midfield. It's looking good. Legwinski, I have no idea how we got him, but I'm glad we did. We need a new defender, but perhaps get a loanee at the moment. At the moment, I think that the main priority shoudl be to try and get a proven Championship striker. It'll probably be expensive, so maybe wait (or pray) until Darren Bent is sold. I reckon that this team's one for the future. And I think Jim's doing a good job considering how difficult the finances are. If Mourhino's having trouble with Abramovich at Chelsea, then he should try coming here for a week.

No more loanees. PLEASE. Just dirupts the squad, i'd much rather have a permanent signing that can fit into the team for future seasons. I'm still keen on Ari Nyman, but no news on him coming back yet?

You need to ask the oracle of transfer knowledge NCA

I first read about De Vos being injured yesterday and my heart sank. I don't trust our defence at the best of times, but De Vos is sometimes the only thing that keeps it ticking.
Don't worry about the loanee idea though - the only plan I've heard that Jim has to deal with De Vos' absence is some games for Sito and the recall of Ian "Mr Non-League" Miller. Let's hope he's up to the challenge...

My mum shouted it up to me last night. Just getting to Bury Town is a task enough, the ground is next to a flipping car park and that on a Saturday's awful! So Miller should be alright

Lol!!
Well I never used to use TWTD before June. I think I stumbled upon their site one day whilst we were looking for a new manager (there I was, eager to check EVERY BLOODY IPSWICH SITE I COULD FIND for any news of who we'd appoint!)
TWTD's lead article said Jim Magilton was expected to be appointed. This was days before anyone else caught on to that idea. I was pissed off at the time cos I wanted Ian "daft-as-a-brush" Holloway. The fact they were telling me something I didn't want to hear actually made me dislike TWTD at first...
...thing is, they were right, weren't they!! So ever since then, I've been hooked on their site cos somehow they find the stories days before anyone else does, and they're almost always right!!

I think, to an extent, TWTD is actually better than the real Ipswich Town site. It's far more quickly updated!
