I was saying it all along - Fuck having too many loanees, just don't play them all in each game!!
For anyone who doesn't know what I'm on about, Ipswich recently turned down the chance to strengthen the squad and sign players like Dele Adebola and Ronnie Wallwork because we already had 5 players on loan (Macken, Walton, Bates, Pollitt & Roberts), 5 being the maximum quota of loan players that can feature in a game. As much as you can't blame Jim for not foreseeing the recent loanee return problems, it still makes me say "you should've brought more in while you had the chance and just not played so many of them at any one time".
Now with Pollitt and Bates returning to their clubs, we find ourselves with only 3 loanees, one of those being Jon Macken, so really we've only got two football players on loan. (Ahem....)
Wasted opportunity, Jim, and now you're stuck with a thinning squad for the next 7 games. Well done.

IMO Jim should've sent Macken back and at least brought in Adebola on loan - might've offered something slightly different (i.e. maybe Adebola would've been.... er.... a bit more........ good!)
