Town manager Jim Magilton has confirmed yesterday's reports of a £200,000 bid for Nicky Forster from Hull City. Town are reported to be willing to allow the frontman to leave for a fee at the level offered, the ex-England U21 international having spent significant spells out injured since signing just over a year ago and with only the rest of this season left on his contract. The Blues are looking to sign Coventry's Dele Adebola before the transfer window closes on Thursday and success on that front could have some bearing on whether Forster is allowed to leave. Forster is worth more, and even if we get Adebola, we need more than 2 senior strikers. Haynes and Clarke are going to be shit hot next season, but this one is a learning curve for them

Why the hell would you want to sell a proven Championship goal scorer, who can bring experience to a young strike force (bar Alan Lee)?

Yeah but we got him for a free, so even if he leaves for nothing we dont lose out, we shudnt be in a situation where we need to sell him to balance the books. We will need his goals this season, and his influence on the younger strikers will be invaluable

Yeh, but how can he be an influence if he's always injured? 2 operations lat year, and oh, suprise suprise, he's picked up another injury already

there is a case for selling him but i think we'd be daft too. He cost us nothing and he has been great this year, particularly against Hull (hang on a minute....!)

Hang on, everybody, shut-up. We haven't heard from me yet, and as such, this thread is not worth continuing until I have had my say. ( ;D Lol! Only joking!! ;D ) 1. If Jim sells Nicky Forster, he is getting rid of one of our proven performers.NICKY FORSTER - AN ASSESSMENT | GOOD POINTS | BAD POINTS | - Experienced, proven Championship scorer, 7 last season.
- Didn't cost us anything.
- Overall can prove to be a dangerous attacker.
| - Our oldest striker.
- In the last year of his contract.
- Seems to be very injury-prone.
|
Injury-prone? Well Gavin Williams seems to be a bit injury prone but you wouldn't bloody sell him now, would you! Oldest striker? I think we need someone up front who has grown out of nappies! Last year of his contract? So is Fabian Wilnis!! Gonna sell him now, are we?! I think the bad points are all a load of bollocks. 2. Dele Adebola for Nicky Forster is almost like for like. Both in their 30's, both proven at this level... what's the bloody point in selling one to get the other? In the knowledge we sold Sam Parkin, shouldn't we at least be getting Adebola as Parkin's 'replacement' and have two "Nicky Forster"s up front? Don't think that would do us any harm! 3. We haven't signed Sylvain Legwinski yet, before Jim gets all excited.A bloody good signing this, but Legwinski hasn't said yes yet, and we're kinda counting on him to be the long-term replacement for Simon Walton. So before Jim gets too carried away thinking "It's okay, I'll sell Forster and bring in Legwinski and Adebola before the window closes", Sylvain might just turn around and say "No I don't want to play Championship football", and I have my doubts we can secure the signing of Dele. At this rate, we won't have anyone new in before the window closes yet we'll have sold one of our best strikers! I believe I have well and truly had my say, now you can all go back to doing whatever pointless bilge it was you were doing with your worthless lives... LOL!

We were awesome (ish) in the 2nd half, funny hearing Jim going hoarse! ;D
I'd say keep Forster, so what he gets injured? I sympathise with him, I have a habit of getting injured by tripping over a tennis ball... Mind you, I don't get paid. But his experience will be valuable this season, with such a young attack coming through.

I also trip up roller skating, over random holes in the ground and getting injured about 2 minutes into my first football match

New rumour on TWTD is that we will give Coventry £250K and Currie for Adebola. Bear in mind TWTD are either spot on or completely wrong
