I really enjoyed an entertaining game - we played much better second half and created loads of chances. They took their pens really well - so that was that. Plus points: Clarke, Haynes, Bowditch, Brittain and Harding had better game. Superb support from the Town fans - no moaners near me. Negatives: Currie (not in the game) Naylor - sad to say to looked shakey. Keep the Faith  |

Do you thnk you could get relegated this season? I hope not but you've not made the best start. Good luck for the rest of the season

We're out of the Carling Cup First Round for the second year running, but this was miles better than last year's bloody 2-0 defeat to Yeovil. We battled brilliantly in this game and if it weren't for Peterborough keeper Mark Tyler having an absolute blinder of a match, we would've gone through. Great to see Clarke get his first senior goal, great to see us score two in one match(!), great to see us giving it our all for a change. I think there's far more positives to be taken from this than the result suggests.
And hey, at least the way we fought it down to the lottery of the shootout means we went out with some dignity...
...unlike Sunderland...
...and Coventry...
...and Palace...
...and Stoke, and Burnley, and Plymouth, and Cardiff...

Good luck for the rest of the season Until it becomes a mathematical impossibiity, you have to be a little concerned about it. Everyone should be because no-one's immune. However, we had this kind of crappy start in 2003/04 where we stayed bottom until around mid-September... ...then we went on a run of 8 wins in 10 games including a 5-match winning streak in October to make Joe Royle Manager of the Month and put us 3rd!! |
