Jim Magilton has confirmed that Sylvain Legwinski is on trial at Ipswich. Here's hoping he's here to stay...
ORIGINAL THREAD:
Reports claiming that Ipswich will welcome released Fulham midfielder Sylvain Legwinski on trial in the next day or two. 33 years old, good Premiership experience, could fill a gap for us...
What do we think? I'm with Jim on this one - excellent capture if he could pull it off.

From TWTD.co.uk:
"Legwinski on Trial?
By Philip Ham Date: 22/8/2006
Fulham midfielder Sylvain Legwinski is reported to be joining the Blues on trial later today. The 33-year-old Frenchman is out of favour at Craven Cottage and is expected to leave on a free transfer before the transfer window closes.
...
The busy defensive midfielder joined the Cottagers from Bordeaux for £3.3 million in August 2001. Born in Clermont-Ferrand, Legwinski has made 148 starts for Fulham and 16 sub appearances and has scored 12 goals.
...
Legwinski and Town's other trialists, Spaniard Toni Soldevilla and Bury Town's Ian Miller, are likely to be involved in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Spurs later this week."
Not already released actually, but could happen if Jim's willing to spend the cash. I'd like to think that Jim is finally getting his act together now: Martin Brittain looks a good prospect, Mark Noble and Simon Walton helped us in the Hull match, now Legwinski...
...I do hope this comes true.

We do need a midfielder, and a defensive one would mean we could play 5-3-2
Sounds interesting! Would be good to help the younger players!

The only thing with 5-3-2 wud be the opposition crowding out the midfield. As long as the def md comes forward to support the attacks then it sounds good. Get him in and stick bruce alongside devos in the centre of defence
