Anyone else think we should have let Parkin go to Coventry? Not an ITFC player IMO, but could do a job for hoofball Coventry. Oh dear, I am in serious fear for this season..........

I would like him to stay and score at Portman Road, but it hasn't happend yet. I think it best if he did go. It may be the change he needs as he never seemed at ease when playing at home. He isn't the fans favourite and they made it well known. We have a good selection of strikers so Jim should cut our losses and get the best deal he can. Now Sam will prove me wrong against Wolves and score heaps, or he will go to somewhere like Coventry, come back and score against us.

I've only seem play once for Swindon, but I know the locals around here would bite your arm off to have him back, though you might want to get a jab after they did. ;D

City miss out on ParkinAug 7 2006
By Andy Turner MICKY ADAMS has switched his attention elsewhere after Ipswich Town turned down his bid for striker Sam Parkin.
The Coventry City boss made a reported £200,000 offer based on £100,000 up front and the rest subject to appearances for the 25-year-old who made his name as a prolific scorer with League One Swindon where he notched 67 goals in 124 games.
Reports in East Anglia this morning said that the Sky Blues requested that the 6ft 2inch front man be withdrawn from Town's squad on Saturday, suggesting they were prepared to up their bid for the player who cost former Tractor Boys' boss Joe Royle £550,000 a year ago.
But Adams said today: "Sam was one of the players I went for last week but Ipswich rejected our offer and we couldn't agree terms.
"That is dead in the water now and we won't be going back. I am pursuing other things and that includes Adam Virgo who can play up front as well as several other positions, so he will hopefully be a useful addition to the squad."
