Still, looked promising. Unfortunate to lose i thought. Had the run of most of the game, and felt it should have ended a draw at least. Was a shame that Palace's second goal came direct from a freekick which should never have been. But, oh well. Can take some positives from the game. Bruce looked not half bad, and can see a good partnership with him and Garvan developing in the centre, when Garvan regains fitness. Forster looks great, if he can keep fit all season, that will be a great bonus, and i personally though Bowditch did well upfront with him, if only he could get that elusive goal. Williams also looked good, and there are still promising signs from Peters, with a few more games under his belt he will get better - he maybe 5ft nothing, but he can outjump most people on the field. Still not happy with Currie being in the side. I still feel the rest of the midfeild is compromised with him playing, and his free kicks and corners, in my honest opinion, are not that great (what has come from them ?), a bit like Beckham, over-rated in that department (like i said, in my opinion). He was all around the midfield getting in the other players way, and leaving his side open for them to build an attack, and one thing that stands out is a free kick he took, with Peters near the half way line, the ball landed near the corner flag, and all he did was shout abuse at Peters it seems because he didn't get to the ball ... Peters needs the confidence, not to be knocked. Another player i am not happy with, is Lee. Sure, when he first came here, he looked like a more skillful Kuqi, which isn't a bad thing, but since then, all i see him doing is falling over at the first oppurtunity (isn't this the reason Bowditch was held back, because of his strength ?), and his constant whining, i lost count of the number of times his arms flew up in the air. Dan Harding got man of the match, but that was met with stunned silence, at least from the section i was sitting in. On that performance, he looks no better then Barron, infact worse, he lost the ball often, and didn't get forward much - but it was his first game, and he didn't exactly have a full season last year, so hopefully he will get better, but from what i saw, Barron should start. Like i said though, it looked promising, and what i'd like to see from this season is Currie to be phased out of the team, and a new centreback (De Vos and Naylor are ok, but two oks are not good, need at least one good defender at least) and rightback (Wilnis can't play forever) either phased through from the reserves (casement maybe?), or bought. And 25,500 crowd today... hopefully that can keep up... Should make for an interesting season. blah... now argue with me, i like to hear peoples points of view, otherwise it would make for a very boring world

nice article wish i cud have been there i'll do the same when i go 2 Leicester on sat for ya ! i think what ppl have 2 remember is......well for 2day new management - will take a while to get the players Jim wants..... palace was always gonna be a tricky start peters needs more games , and should improve garvan was out williams wasn't match fit what happened 2 Parkin ? was he injured.... ? i thought Barron had done well at LB - lil bit of competition tho me thinks forster - well done !!! ( PLEASE STAY FIT !!! ) hope Lee gets sorted out, again he's just back so when fit again hopefully he can be like what he was away at Saints UNREAL !!! think we've got 1 or 2 more players coming in im happy that u said Bruce played well !!! we have been lacking a strong tackler in the middle of the park for a while hopefully he proves me wrong - i wasn't very pleased he joined 2 put it bluntly ! but i think like u said - times cud improve , with everyone fit and new arrivals settled, i think we cud have a good season ! dont see why skysports news have predicted us 18th for.... grrrr

Harding looked edgy and wilnis didnt get forward at all. I wd prefer to play sito who wd gt forward at every opportunity. Peters wasnt realy in the game i would have started with haynes on the wing, as when he came on he got passed players. Currie didnt do too badly and put in some good deliveries, but u miss pace on whichever wing he goes overall i fort it wos a gd performance with the usual lapses in concentration

Thanks for the reports guys, I couldn't make it to the game. I agree about Lee nearly always going to ground in the penalty area, and he argues so much when he does get fouled the refs don't listen. Would have prefered Currie rather than Westy to have gone to Leeds when the offer was made. What's this I hear Magilton got a bloody nose when Forster scored? Did Jim show much passion during the game? There was a poll about changing the music they play when we score. What did they play (used to be Tom Hanks) All in all, the reports seem quite favourable for the future.

Magilton showed alot of passion. I was actually commenting to my dad that i give him til November for his first touchline ban... hehe. Seriously though, good to see. Looks like when they were celebrating the goal, himself and Forster clashed heads, Magilton getting hit on the nose.
It was Tom Hark, not sure about the rest of the ground, but it was either a remix, or the sound system was very distorted at the time of it being played. Took a while to recognise it.

You sure you were watching the same game 2nd half we always looked like winning Bar the last 10 mins. 1st half pretty even. The mighty Palace will push on ! I could ask you the same question I thought you were very average first half, and we had the better of the play, only just. Second half, apart from a 15-20 minute period, it was Ipswich doing most of the attacking. Obviously i am going to be a little biased. But i went into that game expecting to get slaughtered by a side that should be aiming for promotion, but felt you were disappointing, and Taylor said so himself. All in all, i thought a draw would have been a fair result of the game.
