Hmm this board needs a dissenter ;D ...here I come.....I'm stocked with the deal. Westy is a good player - full of energy and had a great first season with us..isnce then he's not done much. He isn't an out and out goal scoring midfielder and isn't a physical holding man....he sort of slips inbetween imho. Westy is as I said an all action player - but thats all, without his massive energy he isn't up to much, and since he's been injured a few times he seems to have lost his pace, and spark, which leaves him pretty dull and in and out of the team to a converted left back.
The only thing that worries me is that we don't have the coverage in the middle but Westy's position is out on the left, not in the middle...and out on the left we have Matt Richards (aforementioned converted leftback) who is also able to run all day, deliver crosses etc etc so I don't think we are losing much to be honest. They're virtual carbon copies of each other and if Leeds are kind enough to give us a pacy left back and 250,000 then thank you very much ;D Our players at left back are many but all lack the quality needed - we are trading on potential quality - we think we can turn around Harding (who when bought was the new Ashley Cole and was going to be an international) Leeds think they can turn around Westy, an all action midfielder. IMHO both clubs are after potential and i think we've got the better of the deal as Westy was never rated as higly as Harding, and we need a defender more than we need a carbon copy of another midfielder...and Leeds have thrown enough money into the bargain to buy McShane....thanks!!
I don't get why some of our fans are so upset to be honest, I think when academy players go it always hurts and he was future captain material....but we've got limited funds and can't afford to double up...so sure if you want Supple you can have him...BUT IT WILL COST YOU....I'd put the phone down if anything under a million was mentioned - four McShane's would help us no end, more in my opinion than the small difference between Supple and Price. (Hurts to say that!)
