I've got my article printed in the Ipswich fanzine! Thanks for your help on this, supernickyforster!
ORIGINAL THREAD:
Hello, NCA here, it's been a long time, I know! I have a 15min window in which to write this then I have to go again, such is the irregularity of my internet access these days...
I'm trying to get my Weekly News Article writing ability a bit more out in the open and I have submitted an article to Mr. Philip Ham at TWTD for the upcoming Issue 83. Ham said the article was "exactly the kind of thing we're after" so I'm holding out hope that TWTD might just publish it. Trouble is, as many of you are aware, I'm based in the Midlands and as such have no way of getting hold of the next issue of the fanzine, so I'll have no idea if my article gets printed.
That's why if there are any TWTD readers or subscribers out there, I NEED YOUR HELP! I have no idea if they'll bother using my title, but the article was called "MAD TO BELIEVE IN MAGIC" and basically detailed how a young Midlands lad managed to become tied with Ipswich Town and why I think Jim Magilton might just get the team playing the football that made me support the club in the first place.
Don't know when Issue 83 will be out, the website says...
"The zine can be bought from our stall on most matchdays which is situated near Sir Alf's statue and from other sellers around the ground.
You can purchase a six-issue subscription from our online zine site which can be found here.
Alternatively the fanzine can also be bought at this fine establishment:
The Back Page, 56 St Andrews Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne. NE1 5SF"
It's a lot of faffing around for me to try any of that just to find my article though!! It'd be nice to know if any of my old friends here would have a little look for me and see if my article got through, because the chances of me getting my hands on a copy are almost nil.
And if they bother printing my name?.... >ahem!<.... my real name is Darren. The way I'll know for certain if any of you spot my article is if you can confirm that it matches the description I gave of its content and you can reply on this thread with my real surname!! ;D
It'd be nice to know if Mr. Weekly News can become Mr. TWTD News, even if for a fleeting moment...
Right. Gotta go! Keep me informed, peeps, even though I probably won't be logged in again for a few days... or at the worst a few weeks... whatever...
;D
Seeya!
