season ratings?

these are my ratings for our players this season:

lewis price 7 - very solid


supple 8 - even better

wilnis 8 - good season

de vos 7.5 - some excellent games

naylor 7 - solid enough

barron 7 - impressed before tiring towards the final games

mcerverly 5 - injury interrupted season, mixed with some bad
and good performances

sito 7 - dynamic going forward, not so solid at the back tho

currie 6 - some good games, however non-existent in others.

westlake 6- not a bad season, however injury interrupted and
struggled to get into some games

garvan 8 - good first season

williams 7.5 - impressed before injury

juan 7.5 - some great performances

jim 6 - great over the years, however past his best days

matt richards 6.5 - better in midfield, however passing is often
poor.

forster 7- top scorer and good goal to game ratio when not injured, which unfortunately was most of the season.

parkin - 5.5 - showed glimpses of quality but ultimately failed to impress before suffering the injury curse

lee - 7.5 - instant impact, however theinjury curse didnt take long to strike

proudlock 5- not many games

peters - 6 not bad when played, one for next season?

macdonald 6 - very poor v crewe, however pretty good in other matches

haynes - 7.5 good first season

bowditch 6 - struggled to fulfill potential

supple 8 - seems good alround 2 me, number 1 !

wilnis 8 - excellent

de vos 6.5 - good in the air ,,,, looks clumsy on the floor at times

naylor 7 - solid , good defender

barron 7 - good potential,,,,,,

mcerverly 6 - great at recovering but season wrecked by injury ( Probably be the same for half the below.... )

sito 6.5 - 2 red cards,,,,,,,,, good going forwards tho, smart player

currie 6 - 1 trick pony - slow - BUT does have the killer ball and against sum teams can DESTROY

westlake 6- ruined by injury, hopefully next season won't be

garvan 8 - looks a great prospect - cheers for the years Jim, hopefully Garvan continues 2 impress !

williams 7 - be a good right winger i think,,,,, all around player AGAIN shame he got injured

juan 7 - good player - has done well

jim 6 - cheers for the memorys jim......... ( play off hat trick etc )

matt richards 7- bags of energy , improve passing / defensive duties and a solid squad player

forster 7.5 - played very well in the LIMITED amount of games he's had ( INJURY GRRR )

parkin - 5 - wasn't GREAT before injury but did stick the ball in the net a few times,,,,,,,,, get u fit over the summer and show us what u can do

lee - 8 - what a difference alan lee made upfront ! brilliant !
even when not scoring he bullys defenders, again injury has wrecked season a ICKLE bit........ but u / forster cud literally kill teams if both fit i hope


proudlock 6 - not bad,,,,,,,, but was obviously royle just wanted 2 sign any forward literally when we did - i hope ur career works out proudy !

peters - 8 - Royle - play this lad . he really is a blooooooody good prospect . i dont dislike currie,,,,,,,,, but Peters is promising
again season wrecked by injury ish

macdonald 6 - not great. but did have speed which others don't possess ( bar peters / forster ) won't be sorry 2 see u go

haynes - 7 - uve done well - the norwich game hahaha class !
good prospect . definately worth developing

bowditch 6 - Technically one of out best players. Problem with Bowditch isn't of his own making tho i really dont think. Scored a quality hat trick v watford. also last year......... when we were pushing for promotion before xmas royle shoved him out on loan
very much a confidence player for me,,,,, and for one, i want u 2 stay

team rating - 6
youth rating - very VERY promising. not just saying that because im an ipswich fan, but charlton ( surprise surprise ) amongst others are rumoured 2 be looking at players - 8

about 6 games not having a fit forward !!!
midfield crisis start of the season..........
top quality leaving last season........
royle not being sure about peters / bowditch............

but come on, we've been down thinking " its not going well "
i had a BAD feeling about this season and now i justifiably did have
but i have a GREAT feeling for next season..................

price 7 - impressed when played, shame that he may have to move to fulfil potential

supple 8 - isn't necessarily a better keeper than price but is obvious 1st choice now

wilnis 7 - good pro, not sure if he was player of the season though

de vos 7 - solid defender but gets found out by quicker attackers. Is natural leader though and a wise choice for captain with Jim gone

naylor 7 - occassionally rash but generally a good defender and is a threat at set pieces

barron 6 - potentially a good defender but like many Town defenders is prone to mistakes. Good going forwards though

mceverly 5.5 - a solid defender but a poor footballer. shows little awareness of the players around him. V poor distribution

sito 5.5 - perhaps more suited to a midfield role as although showed glimpses was prone to rashness in defensive duties. Not helped by being vertically challenged - too many opposing attackers won far post headers

currie 6.5 - can change a game but inconsistent. If he was a free transfer signing though then fans would be much happier with his contribution. Has unfairly been made a scapegoat

westlake 5.5 - his poorest season yet but has been victim of the injury curse more than once. Next season will be better

garvan 8 - what a player but needs to perform for a whole season (performances tailed off in last few weeks as teams started to mark him out of games). My player of the season though

williams 7 - not a natural winger but looks one of our better players out wide. Hopefully we will see true ability next season

juan 6.5 - showed undoubted class but was very inconsistent. Doubt he will make breakthrough at Monaco but has a future at this level and above

jim 6 - probably one season too many at this level but a fantastic servant. His contribution in the earlier years will never be forgotten

richards 6.5 - poor defender but has proved himself to be a more than adequate midfielder. I've often been his biggest critic but I feel he has proved that he has a future at the club now

forster 7 - showed when fit that he is a quality performer at this level. Hopefully he can remain fit for as long as possible next season

parkin 6 - imo unfairly criticised as was top scorer til last couple of weeks despite being out since November. Good predator (not a target man Joe). Needs to score at Portman Road to get monkey off his back

lee 7 - showed that he knows where the goal is in his early games but faded after his hamstring injury. Must prove that he's more than a bridge the gap player next season

proudlock 5 - showed some quality but clearly unfit and only signed as a stopgap player anyway

peters 7 - possibly has a good future. Hopefully he will make step up next season and we will see more of him. Lightning pace and control but needs to work on his crossing to be a consistent first team player

macdonald 5.5 - talented but not really suited to th championship game. Needs to bulk up to have a future in professional football

haynes 6.5 - made unexpected step up to first team over past season and shows undoubted talent. Will need to show improvement though to be a permanent inclusion in 1st team squad. Has great speed and unsettles defenders but needs to make sure that he is more than a supersub

bowditch 5.5 - was too much too soon in his early career and I personally think that it would benefit both parties if he were to move on to pastures new. Has clearly lost confidence in front of goal and is likely to be behind Forster, Parkin, Lee and Haynes in 1st team reckoning. May also see Clarke and Rhodes move above him in pecking order next season

Maybe I've been harsh on a few players and this may be down to not having seen too many games over past season. If Ipswich are to challenge next season then will need to sign players who will actually add to the squad rather than those who give depth, i.e. Sito, Santos, Diallo and Horlock to name a few. Hope that we could be in contention for playoffs next season but realistically top 10/mid table is more likely.
