what is the clause in his transfer regarding england caps, because in the group stages without rooney he could make an apprearance?

If he makes an appearance in a full international game we get £200,000 for the first two games he plays.

i reckon it will be owen rooney (even if injured) crouch bent and defoe. Sven will probably take 5 now that rooney is injured

with Crouch & Defoe ahead of him, i can't see Bent starting

Defoe hasn't played enough this season, he hasn't scored in a while. Darren Bent is the top scoring English striker, meanwhile Crouch and Defoe aren't even in the top 15

yeah but when its 3-0 england against paraguay, with 10 mins remaining and 2 subs left surely Sven will rest owen and bring on Bent? Subs do count as caps

Personally, i'd take Teddy Sheringham,
Great in the air, great vision, great touch & passing abilty. if we're in trouble he can change a game, i don't think Bent or Defoe could do that

I thought Sheringham retired from international football. I read a comment this morning on the BBC Test match special website, it was about Shane Warne but it could be made about anybody.

Teddy never actually retired from internationl football, he always said if England need him, he'd play, As for Warney, he wants to play ODI's again, just coz the world cup is coming up and he missed the last one due to failing a drugs test.
