<sigh>
NEW Leeds United recruit Kevin Nicholls suffered a knee injury in his first training session and was forced to sit out today's friendly at Nottingham Forest.
The £700,000 import from Luton, pictured left, had walked into Elland Road with all guns blazing, declaring that he will be the club's "lucky omen". But his luck ran out within minutes of training for the first time with his new team-mates. Now the midfielder faces a race against time to be fit for United's 2006/7 Coca-Cola Championship curtain-raiser at home to Norwich next Saturday. Also missing from the Forest clash were left-back Stephen Crainey, midfielder Shaun Derry and striker Richard Cresswell, who have all had summer setbacks. Trialist defender Hayden Foxe, meanwhile, has had to return to his London home for personal reasons. United boss Kevin Blackwell gets a further chance to formulate his opening-day plans in another friendly on Monday at Grimsby.

No Cresswell today either, anyone know when either player will be fit again? I don't want to alarm you or tell you something that may not be true BUT the word all over WACCOE is that Nicholls was injured due to Butler landing on him and may miss the first 2 weeks of the season. Even worse apparently is Creswells injury which is rumoured to be about 2 months. The people that said about this claim its from a reliable source. The people on WACCOE thought it was a wind up until Leeds reported Nicholl's injury and in time Cressy's so don't be surprised if its true. Sorry for telling you false truths though if its not.

Darn it, if that is true about Cresswell, the two little guys Healy and Blake better not let us down and show us that they can play.

As long as Blackwell tells his players not to play Hoofball it shouldnt make a difference if the players are small.....
