Giuseppe Rossi to sign for Leeds in a one year loan deal from manure? Anyone else heard this? I've heard it from two unrelated sources today already.
He only signed a new contract keeping him at man united last week, and Fergie stated "We are delighted that he has signed a new contract, he represents the future of the club." Seems bizarre he is being linked with a loan move to Leeds, unless Fergie wants him to get some first team competitive experience with Leeds.
"Last year he had a remarkable season and he is developing all the time. Giuseppe is a fantastic talent and we see a great future ahead for him." - Fergie last week.
Background:
The American-born Italian striker joined United from Serie A side Parma in July 2004. He wasted little time making his mark for the Reserves, netting 13 times in his first 19 starts. He also bagged a further five goals in eight Pontin’s League games and helped the Reserves claim an unprecedented Quadruple in his first season.
Giuseppe’s impressive displays resulted in a call-up to the senior squad in November 2004 just two weeks after signing professional forms with the club. Sir Alex handed Rossi the number 42 shirt and named him on the bench for United’s Carling Cup fourth round clash with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. Rossi made his Reds’ bow five minutes from time in the 2-0 victory as a substitute for David Bellion. His involvement with the first team became a more frequent occurrence during the 2005/06 season, as did his goals for the Reserves. He netted an incredible 30 times in as many games as the Reds' second string sealed the Treble (League title, Manchester Senior Cup and Reserve Shield).

Notice that Liam Miller is up for grabs too (at the tight price)! Is it worth going for him? And does SAF expect is the right price? £1 to £1.5m?
I'd certainly go for Miller and off-load the likes of Bakke and Einnarson!
Rossi would be a great loan signing (if sources are correct)!

Would be fantastic if Leeds could take him for a year. Radio Leeds apparently reported this too earlier, but I didn't hear it, (I've converted already to the new Yorkshrie Radio!)
I see Liam Miller is now up for sale by ManU btw.... I hope Blackwell has seen enough to steer well clear of that one.

Miller was ok the first few games in the Autumn of last year - against Southampton away and the home game after that I forget at the moment. After that I think he went off the boil, until in the latter stages of the season, he was pretty terrible to be honest. £1.5m is way over priced based on the performances I saw him give. I'd much rather see Steve Stone or Seb Carole on the right wing to be honest.

We were linked with him aswell, he looks a tidy little player, I think it'd be a decent move for him. But I thought you lot hate each other?

We do GB but that hasn't stopped us trading players in the past has it! Rio, Smithy, Cantona, Strachan, Sharpe, Miller to name byt a few! I think Fergie has a mutual respect for us and likes to 'help us out' so to speak I won't moan though! He's the type of signing we need to restore the faith!

I hope we get Miller - he seemed quite good centre mid last year. I thought Rossi was going to West Brom or somin, coz ManU are after their keeper - that Kusczaczk fella of whatever his name is

Weird when you actually think how many players have joined each other! I'd be reasonably happy if you get Rossi & Walcott comes to us

Man U obviously know where the cream of the crop is....unfortunatly they have slightly more cash than us...... Lol id bet you'd settle for that!

He'd be an absolute class signing on loan....... better than all our strikers but I'm pretty sure he can play as an attacking midfielder and he'll be able to link up to the strikers well..... might have the creativity we lack....
