We made it boys, we've made it to Cardiff.
What a roller coaster - Being a young Leeds fan - living in Watford - no word of a lie - living in Watford - it's been just unbelievable. I have felt proud of our wonderful club and wonderful fans on so many an occassion.
The way we supported when we were 5-0 down at Highbury when most other football fans would not have been able to stomach it and that fateful day at the Reebok on the 2nd of May 2004, when Viduka was sent off - even though I was at home, seeing the fans will never allow me to forget how special my beloved Leeds United is. I cried that night.
Our 6-1 win at home to QPR and that 3-2 win at the Stadium of Light were among the greatest moments of last season.
But, this season, how amazing - I've seen Leeds on the road 4 times this season, thankfully, thankfully one of those times was at St. Mary's when the fans won us the game. We were immense. 3-0 down and who would have thought it. 4-3, fantastic.
I was in the Kop on Friday night when Elland Road was electric, absolutely electric. Billy Davis ended punching the air with his 1-1 draw. His Preston only defeated twice at home all season. Nailed on successive trip to Cardiff for him.
But Leeds United were coming to town. This is not the Leeds United of the champions league, or of the premier league - but a Championship Leeds United filled with spirit, passion, determination and desire. A desire to lift our famous old club to where we belong.
Never have I been prouder of our lads in victory, than tonight. We don't have world class players, but we went to Deepdale against the odds.
And player and fan alike, and I wish I had been there, we fought like lions.
We faced a power failure, the best defence in the league, and of course one of the best managers in the league. But this is what we craved for as fans, and this is what we got. Defended like soliders, like giants in fact and we fought to the death.
Neil Warnock, despite promotion, was visibly disgusted at the final whistle and couldn't hide his envy - I hope he is envious again come the 21st of May.
We couldn't ask any more and tonight I am so so proud of my Leeds United, so proud of Kevin Blackwell and so proud of our fans.
I love you one and all, I love you Leeds United - one more crucial step, and we'll be back to the promised land.
MARCHING ON TOGETHER

I don't mean to spoil the night for Leeds by talking about Warnock. And I do unreservedly congratulate Sheff U on their promotion, but "Are you pleased for Kevin Blackwell?" was the question asked and what does he say "Well, I think Leeds deserved it, on their second half display". To me that was envy that we might after 2 years, and I stress might join Sheff U in the Prem after their 12 years of trying to get out of the second tier of english football. Why can't he answer the question, "are you pleased for blackwell or not?"
Re: Watford - a couple of my good friends are Watford through and through. I do want to go tomorrow night but I don't know what the ticket situation is. And being such a friendly club I doubt the home fans will mind me waving about my Leeds scarf.
Anyway good luck to Watford and Palace tomorrow - but it's all about LEEDS tonight.

You're going to wave your Leeds scarf about at the Watford match? I wouldn't risk it, but if Watford go though (which they will) then they should be alright.

envy - n. - discontent aroused by another's fortune.
I think that's about right.

Great post cmonleeds, an exalt from me too. To be honest, I would disagree with your comment about Warnock too, I've never been a fan of him but with the pressure off him now, he does actually seem to be quite an ok bloke and did admit that Leeds deserved the win without grimacing visibly.
Tonight was fantastic, Leeds at times were superb in the second half, but I am worried about the lack of Crainey in the final. Crainey has his critics and does get skinned at least a couple of times a match, but he also has moments of brilliance, which I do not feel Pugh or Harding could match. Crainey is easily the best left back we have at the club.
Just as an aside, I was annoyed at the abuse Crainey got when approaching the tunnel at fulltime on Friday, (a small amount of Leeds fans telling him to f* off) as it seemed to upset him. I walked down the steps and applauded him and said something to the effect of "Nice one Crainey, you did well, keep it up." which brought a smile to his face and he gave me a friendly wink before disappearing down the tunnel.
I can't wait to go to Cardiff, just hope I can get tickets. I still have a granny left to sell if there's any takers.....

I won't actually risk waving my Leeds scarf about at the Watford match, although some sections of the crowd really wouldn't mind - and I'm not sure how much more I want to put into AD Boothroyd's pocket, so I'll probably stick to the TV.....

You'd probs be better off not waving your scarf aswell!

Ah well done Radebe about Crainey, I'm glad you made him smile after some idiots told him to f**k off, thats unforgivable. Crainey did well tonight and I am worried how we'll cope against Watford in the final without him. I think your encoragement helped him for tonights performance

Re: Warnock. He acheived what he set out to do, and for that he is/was content and I applaud him for doing so. But, to me, I still think he would have preferred Preston to win tonight (not that there's anything wrong with that), but was imo reluctantish to congratulate us. Please don't get me wrong I applaud him and his acheivements, but still think he could have been more openly maganimous - or maybe I read too much into it.
Cheers for the exalts fellas...
