Uncle Ken's at it again!!!
Leeds Annouce Action Against Worthington Leeds United have written to Gary Worthington, the club's former Assistant Academy Director, to inform him that it is the intention to commence legal proceedings against him for breach of contract.
The alleged breach relates to confidentiality clauses following his departure from the club in July 2005.
The decision to take action against Worthington comes after youngsters Tom Taiwo and Michael Woods left Leeds recently to take up a trial with Chelsea, where Worthington now works.
Chairman Ken Bates writes today in his programme notes:
"During the week we informed Gary Worthington, our former assistant academy director, that we will be commencing legal proceedings for breach of contract. As part of his pay off he undertook not to approach any of our players, parents or families for a period of five years. We believe that Worthignton has breached that undertaking and we will be seeking substantial damages."

yeah I had seen that too!!!! Would do our return season in the Prem some good ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I knew we were chasing Chelsea about this, but I didn't know this Worthington fella used to work for us. Dunno how likely it is that we'll succeed, but if he had an agreement not to tap up our players and he has done, then we should be ok!

Leeds indeed have a case breach of contract is a very serious thing toppler of empires and all that if Uncle Ken gets a good lawyer (He hinted uncle Ken) then Leeds could make a lot of money in compo or from future sales This will help to go towards all the debts we will have to pay if we get promoted as well as additional contractual transfer fees - i.e. we'd have to pay Middlesbrough in excess of £1m if Ricketts is still a Leeds player when we go up!!!. Some of the debt Bates took on when he took control is frozen until Leeds win promotion too and repayments will restart once we go up. There's a conspiracy theory here as to our (until the last three games) bad end of season form, (which has been circulated by an ex Leeds academy player who has the same surname as a certain retired Arsenal defender to a friend of mine), but I refuse to believe this theory. I can't believe Leeds would want anything other than promotion.
