And there we stand together. I cannot but hope that he fails - it would only be just. However, his failure is purely a personal thing and I genuinely hope that it is not at Leicester's expense. Like Forest and Leeds, and Wednesday and Man City in the past, the well supported clubs deserve better.

Fairly high I would say, but would have a bit more right to than last time. I shouldn't be on here tonight as I feel very very gutted and frustrated. Can't help but feel a huge sense of injustice. Great goal, but in the last couple of minutes when Preston had done bugger all, all match - their only shot on target I think. We had the ball in the net 3 times in the latter part of the 2nd half. I was very low down right behind the goal, difficult for me to tell if the first 2 were offside and I had no idea why the third was disallowed. Even withstanding this, I thought the ref + 1 linesman had extremely poor games. key decisions wrong in a game of such importance to us. It was like Laurel and Hardy but less funny. I was furious with them and I haven't seen the crowd so hostile to the officials for a long time, and rightly so. As for Lonergan, the Preston GK, turning around at full time and goading the kop, shame on you! I hope the useless tosser of a ref saw it and noted it. Given the volatile atmosphere, he didn't need to make it worse. Or maybe I'm just bitter. I celebrated thinking we had scored 3 times towards the end of the game and we lost at the death. Absolutely gutted. I am distraught. As for the performance...not great overall, but we were the only team deserving anything from the game. The effort and endeavour was there but the players looked totally bereft of ideas and clueless in the final third. Too narrow with Hume and Hendrie on the wings. Its the same problems again and again which Ollie is not doing anything about. Very odd that there was little creativity on the bench apart from the usual strikers to bring on...Fryatt, Hume, Howard, Hayles, DJ...its all the same really...none of them excite or are likely to ease our creative problems. Boring. Dire. Freezing. Depressing. Infuriating. Highlight of the game: a kid no older than 4 sat in front of me yells to the linesman: "why don't you shove that flag up your arse!" Milan must be getting twitchy with his trigger finger.

Henderson 6 - nothing to do really except pick the ball out of the net once
Stearman 6 - decent defensively but the right side was very weak coming forward. Kisnorbo 6.5 - solid N'Gotty 5.5 - hmmm good in the tackle but slow and flat footed. MacAuley back on Sat please. Clapham - 6.5 - coped well defensively. Some good runs and tackles.
Hume 4 - deary deary me. Out of position today again but a chicken without a head. Oakley - 5.5 couple of decent breaks forward but had opportunities to shoot but didn't and chances fizzled out. Look at Preston's goal FFS. Clemence (C) - 4 - dreadful. No leadership and poor passing. Perhaps captaincy should be stripped, this isn't the first time. Hendrie - 6.5 good touches and runs but I felt for him, out of position on the wing.
Campbell - 6.5 - most lively of the strikers that frequented the pitch for us, but didn't threaten to much. Stupidly used as a target in our HOOOOOF football tonight. Howard - 5.5 - ineffective. Not being exploited properly and looked a bit disinterested to be frank.
Subs:
Mattock 6.5 - gave us a bit more shape, but not a midfielder. The wrong option on the bench. He is a good player, but a good left back. Hayles 6 - looked a bit clumsy though did trouble Preston a bit. Fryatt 6 - what do the fans obsess over him for? His record here is awful. Offside all the time tonight. But he did try to get us the win, and looked our only potential goal source.

If it is an offering of but a crumb of comfort, I think that Colchester are a side that you needn't worry about - they were miserable and looked resigned to relegation already. There looked to be only two places that you need fear.
I can hear the Ennio Morricone soundtrack fade in as Mandaric struts down the dusty road, his finger poised...

Not overly, its the 3rd from bottom spot I am worried about. Still despite me being depressed we are 16th in the form table for the last 8 games...if we stutter through to the end of the year at that level we should just about be ok. Bristol home west brom away saints away next 3 games, we could conceivably lose all 3 I reckon.
