Ok, we're probably not, but you can dream.
Very much looking forward to it this evening, never been to villa park so will be an experience, sitting right up at the back of the stand tho, but never mind.
If we defend anything like we did on saturday, expect an absolute hammering with the pace and power they've got. Can see Gareth Barry causing real problems if he plays, but I'm hoping the feel good factor after the Forest game hasn't been lost.
If we can just play half decent football and try and compete, I'll be happy. Penalties I think are our best shot!!

Back of the stand is best for atmosphere It's a cup match so it doesn't matter if you get battered. Just enjoy the experience

Just enjoy the experience Only to the extent that I work in Birmingham and will never hear the end of it from countless Villa fans! We pushed them quite close at home last year, great to see Martin O'Neill's return. Sod it, as long as Cov get thrashed! ;D

Ah, that's a bit of a downer It's not impossible, just unlikely Burnley gave Pompey a run for their money last night so... I can't beleive they're taking 11k! They hardly get that at home

Bloody hell, didn't know that - Ricoh was empty last weekend.
Just goes to show, every cov fan is a closet united supporter.

I agree Filbert, rationally we're not going to do well this game and may get a bit of a hiding. I'll think we'll raise our game though as we have done numerous times in the cups over the past few years. Whether it'll be enough for a win, I don't know - then it'll be back to the usual dross on Saturday. I've been to Villa Park for our brief premiership cameo in 03/04. 3-0 down after 15 mins and Ferdinand sent off before the 30 minute mark sort of spoilt the buoyant mood the 3-4k travelling support was in before the game. We lost 3-1. I was in the lower of the end stand (the one that isn't the Holte End). Wasn't the best view because the angle of the seating was so shallow but i really like the ground and think it is one of the best in the Prem. I think you're in the Upper Doug Ellis for this match (along the side) because of the bigger cup allocation. Cheer POG, we'll let you down!

OK team I'd like to see tonight: GK: Fulop LB: Sheehan CB: N'Gotty CB: Kisnorbo RB: Kaebi LM: Porter CM: Clemence CM: Kishishev RM: Ferreira (if fit) ST: Hume ST: De Vries I don't think we'll be that positive and I hear that Megson is going with 3 centre backs - though I hope its more of a 3-5-2 than a 5-3-2, though we'll see. I think he'll go: GK: Fulop CB: N'Gotty CB: Kisnorbo CB: McAuley LWB: Mattock RWB: Chambers RCM: Hume CM: Clemence LCM: Kishishev ST: Campbell ST: Cort.

.......and I under-estimated Megson's negativity...we're going for an even more defensive side than the above. Fulop Stearman N'Gotty McAuley Kisnorbo Mattock Chambers Clemence Kishishev Hume Fryatt So 6 out and out defenders again! Stearman was wank Saturday, why is he playing? The same can be said of Fryatt...I think I'd struggle to pick one between him and Cort at the minute. And the defender Chambers in midfield again. Annnnd WHY is Maybury on the bench!?! I thought we'd never see the crap lazy git again.

Its definitely a 5-3-2 with Stearman and Mattock as the wing backs.

Solid if not inspiring so far, they're doing a decent job - need to nick a goal though. Campbell on for Hume Maybury on for Kishishev.

That'd be fun actually! I'd imagine its Man United's academy reserves or something playing though.
