Swindon Town boss Paul Sturrock could be in line for the vacant manager's job at Leicester City. BBC Sport understands that an approach has been made to Sturrock from the Championship club, who recently parted company with boss Martin Allen.
Leicester's Championship rivals Coventry have already dampened speculation linking their manager Iain Dowie with the Walkers Stadium vacancy.
Sturrock has managed sides to four promotions in the last six seasons.
I for one will be surprised if Luggy goes to Leicester, he will want to finish the job he has started at Swindon. Also he left us to go to a "bigger" club and had his fingers burnt by an over bearing chairman. Swindon are now in a better position money wise than any time in the last ten years at least, so unless the money is too good to refuse I reckon he will stay put.

I'd have him here, better than many of the people we've been linked with. I think he'd rather build a team though than manage whats in front of him, and like you say GDED, Milan is an over bearing chairman whose likely to burn his fingers. Least it shows Milan is thinking outisde the box so to speak.

Doesn't seem very likely tho. Swindon have denied receiving any approach from Leicester and wouldn't be very quick to let him go. I think he's a great League One manager, but I wouldn't favour him to come in and make what is effectively someone else's team work.
And he looks like a fisherman - no offence to you anglers.

Aye but I bet Milan is willing to splash out the compo if he wants to get someone who already has a job. What about Darren Ferguson of Peterborough working alongside someone a bit more experienced?

Well it's an idea, but I'm not a fan of the whole shared management thing - too many cooks and all that. We need a strong hand at the top to do the business, I don't think a club/chairman looking at promotion to the prem should be anyone's learning ground. And I can't see Uncle Milan being very patient with an inexperienced manager, regardless of who his dad is!

Snap him up. He'd do a brilliant job for you. (But I would expect him to stay at Swindon.)

Yeah I know what you mean, but there is just so little in the way of a mangerial market at the minute now Jewell has turned us down. I was just hoping we may come across a Roy Keane-esque figure to do the business. I don't much fancy this Chelsea coach we've been linked with though.

Step up then Geo. Send in your CV and see what happens! I remember some geezer from Middlesbrough doing that after McClaren's departure and getting a rather amusing response from the club.

Well I have sat at the Walkers many a Saturday afternoon and thought 'FFS I could do a better job than this!' It can't be that hard to get them doing the right thing, 20odd thousand can see it from the stands every week! Its tempting, but I don't think Milan has the sense of humour of Steve Gibson.

Peter Reid rumours have been going around today. I, like most people I suspect, am sick of rumours. I want news, and good news at that. (This wasn't a dig at you, just at the chairman)

To be fair Paul Sturrock is a very good manager, if you look at Southampton's decline, it is a result of his dismissal, and he took Sheff Wed up, but got sacked, but are they any further forward.
As for Scot managers, they do seem to have the knack at getting things done result wise, so in essence he would not be a bad choice, but Swindon know he is quality and won't let him go without a fight.

They let Wise go easily enough! Not sure he has quite the same track record though. But let's work on that!
