Seemingly so according to the Mirror: Fuming Leicester owner Milan Mandaric is ready to axe boss Martin Allen.Mandaric has already sounded out senior players after a disastrous start to the season. And James Wesolowski's fourth-minute winner against Accrington Stanley in the Carling Cup last night may not be enough to save Allen. Mandaric may bring in a senior figure to work with Allen or possibly replace him in the leading role - with veteran Brian Little the favoured option. Little was a huge success at Leicester in his previous spell, but has been out of work since leaving Tranmere a couple of years ago. Allen and Mandaric are also at loggerheads over the signing of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Mandaric set up the transfer and agreed terms, but Allen then asked the Dutchman to come on trial. It is an embarrassment for Mandaric who claimed last night he was "backing his manager" but behind the scenes there are growing problems. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I really hope this is lazy journalism from a crappy red top, but then it is apparently Milan's newspaper of choice for releasing snippets of info. If it is true then I am not a happy fox . On the field, yes it hasn't been an ideal start, but its not been disastrous. Teams need time to settle and you cannot sack a manager after just one league game, esp after giving him a whole preseason. Yes Milan is a blessing to this club, but he should stop meddling in the manager's job, it can't do team preparations any good. If Allen doesn't want JFH, so be it, let him have someone else. I'm sure the chairman has had a say in the signings of Hellings, Sappleton and Nielsen - all of which look very mediocre at best and are destined for the reserves. And wtf has happened to the Prince of Persia...haven't even heard anything about this supposed injury. And Brian Little, I mean come on!! Lets just get on with the season and give MA a chance.

I think you've probably found the flaw in this yourself geo - "according to the mirror".
And as far as tensions between manager and chairman go, Mandaric knew what he was getting into by bringing Martin Allen on board - he's not the sort of bloke who's gonna allow board interference or sit back and be told what to do, and these were among the reasons for hiring Allen in the first place!
Let's just consign this crap to the b****cks board - hey now there's an innovation!

One game and one thumping defeat into the new season and already there are ripples rocking the boat. I laughed when i read it.

It was hardly a thumping defeat, but yes there are ripples. As filbert says though, probably mostly stirred by the media above anyone else. Allen's not a yes man, but I think they probably have some kind of agreement regarding cooperation on transfer targets...what with Milan's contacts and MA's lack of them. Maybe some tension is developing.

More useless lazy journalism, this time from the NOTW: MARTIN ALLEN could quit as Leicester boss after a bust-up with chairman Milan Mandaric. Allen, the volatile former Brentford and MK Dons boss, signed a three-year contract only in May and has since signed 14 players in a bid to keep alive Mandaric's dream of a return to the Premier League. Yet Allen, 42, pulled out of the chance to land striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink — after Mandaric had spent weeks enticing the Dutchman to join the Foxes and agreed a £20,000-a-week deal. Pressure Allen felt the hitman, released by Charlton this summer, was not fit enough and the 35-year-old joined Cardiff instead. Now the fall-out may lead to the end of Allen's short spell in charge. Leicester kicked off the new season with a home defeat to Blackpool and the pressure is on Allen to produce. Former Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock is currently out of work and could be approached by Mandaric to take over at short notice.TBNeil Warnock and Paul Jewell are being target by Leicester City with Martin Allen is set to leave the midlands club after a major fall out with chairman Milan Manderic. The volatile former Brentford and Mk Dons boss Allen only signed a three year contract in May and has since signed a dozen players in a bid to set alive Manderic's driving desire for a return to the lucrative Premiership. But the rumblings, evident from the start, came to a head over the failed transfer of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and word is out from inside both manager's office and the Board Room that Mad Dog's short stay is over. We understand that Jewell has already declined an approach and Warnock, equally explosive, now tops a list which includes Early season runners also include Paul Ince, who took over from Allen at MK Dons, and Ian Holloway at Plymouth. Leicester, desperate for some fire-power, are now ready to turn to former player Paul Dickov on a short term contract now he is out of favour at Manchester City. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Because of course Warnock, Ince and Holloway would just sit back and let the chairman do whatever he wants to the team.

Yeah basically, there just making mountains out of molehills from the Hasselbaink situation. They probably did fall out, but I don't think there is anything to suggest he is about to resign or be fired.

You're having a laugh? On about sacking him already??? We'll have him if you won't though! Apparantly Leicester are one of the 5 clubs to support us against the 15pt deduction, what do you guys make of that?

But Wise is doing alright... Really, I didn't know that. Seems fair enough - I don't know the ins and outs of what Bates has done but its not fair on the fans. A lot of clubs had a problem with the way we went through administration and still got promoted, and although we now have a different owner, I think we are just trying to take the moral high ground.

In the Sun this time round: GLENN ROEDER is being lined up for a shock return to management at Leicester. Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric met the former Newcastle and West Ham boss in London before Leicester’s 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday. Mandaric was ready to replace Martin Allen with Roeder this week, but City’s display at Selhurst earned Allen a stay of execution. _ _ _ _ _ _ Glenn Roeder!?

Probably just as well I only read The Times.
This is all complete bollocks. The idea of any manager being sacked at this time of year is completely absurd. All the crappy tabloids were jumping on the Martin Jol bandwagon last week, one win over Derby and it all goes away.

To sack him now would be a disgrace... the guy is quality.
