Oi you! We beat Portsmouth at home in 2004 and still got relegated. Team: Henderson, N'Gotty, Kenton, McAuley, Sheehan, Weso, Campbell, Kishishev, Fryatt, Campbell, Hume I was about to say that although its a nice positive creative team, that it may not be physical enough (because they are) But we've scored, WAHOOO!!! YAAAAAYyy!!!!! Wesolowski! Get in, the season starts now.

Glad I'm not there...chucking it down and the away end has no roof.

Highest ranked team ever to play Accrington. Could be a bit of tension in Corrie...Roy Cropper a diehard Leicester fan and Hayley Cropper an Accy fan...both at the game...could be trouble.

H/T Accy 0 City 1
Good goal, possession and pressure. Not much in the way of clear cut chances though. Still, professional performance so far.

Sounds to me like Henderson is dithering a bit on the ball again. I was at the Blackpool game on Saturday and he looked a bit suspect.
Mate of mine is at the game tonight (naturally soaking wet!), says that we look a bit iffy at the back but the passing is better and we should pick up the win.
As long as we don't see quite so much of the wayward long-ball which seemed to plague our play last season (and a bit of the same-old on saturday), I'll be happy. It just seems like sometimes the defence want to get rid of the ball as soon as possible so just hoof it up-field and bypass a midfield with some capable, technical passing players.

Yeah he does dither but I think he is the best option we have now Logan is on a season long loan.
Accrington sound quite strong at the minute, hopefully we'll start playing soon and tie this up or I can see a late equaliser, which is not what we need.
Thats a problem I've heard with Allen, he does like it direct. We can't afford to do that today though with no height up front.

Just wondering if Jimmy Nielsen is any good.
You're right though, our squad isn't really built for route one and all. Hume leaps like a salmon but he's not a big bloke, De Vries isn't as physical as his build would suggest - DJ's not really an aerial player for me either. But when I've seen Leicester play the ball on the ground, short simple passes, we can play some really good football.
Very much in need of that second goal now! Could do without ET or pens with Palace away on saturday.

Well he didn't have a great preseason. Was flapping around a bit...not that that should condemn him to the scrap heap of course.
Yeah I agree, De Vries is one of the worst players in the air in the squad. With pacy players up front like Hume and Campbell, and good distributors of the ball like Clemence, Kishishev and Weso in midfield, I feel we can be quite creative. Still probably need some more width though - but then thats where Kaebi will come in.
Yeah, hmmm came close there, but at least Accy aren't threatening as much now.

Won 1-0. Job done, not much more. Seemingly through as a result of some good saves from Hendo.
Least we're in the hat and the season is under way.

I think "phew" is the word!
And ironically it seems like we largely have Henderson to thank for that!
