Leicester City striker Iain Hume today committed his future to the Foxes by signing a new three-year deal with the club. Hume, who joined City from Tranmere in August 2005, has proved to be a big hit with Leicester supporters since making the move to the Walkers Stadium. The 23-year-old striker hit 14 goals for the Foxes last season - making him the club's top scorer for that campaign. Known for his hard work and never say die attitude on the pitch, Hume's new contract ties him to the Foxes until at least the end of the 2009-10 campaign. City chairman Milan Mandaric said: "I am thoroughly delighted that Iain has pledged his future to us for the next three seasons. "In the short time that I have been involved with the club he has been one of our outstanding performers. "I hope our supporters will be equally happy with this news." Hume, who is currently away on international duty with the Canadian national side, has made 73 starts for the Foxes since moving from Prenton Park, scoring on 23 occasions. The new deal comes in the same week that City announced the signing of former AC Milan and Bolton defender Bruno N'Gotty and Danish goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen. www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1032980,00.html

Always good to see players like Hume committing themselves to the club while new signings pour in. He's a fantastic, hard-working player, and anyone who's ever seen him play knows he can leap like a salmon for the ball - quite impressive for a short bloke.
