Rumour has it that Hoddle has been seen in Leicester and is very much in contention Fingers crossed that it is only a rumour!

I seriously hope Leicester don't waste the bank of talent that's out there at the moment. Admittedly, some of them might be beyond Leicester, but I still think it's worth trying for the best.
Paul Jewell, Chris Coleman, Stuart Pearce... don't know if Leicester could get the likes of Coleman but I think he's the most talented one out there who does actually want a job now. Certainly Neil Warnock wouldn't really be the pick of the bunch, would he. FFS don't give it to Nigel Worthington, and Glenn sodding Hoddle?! What the hell has he ever done for any club as manager?!
I saw this happen with Ipswich last year. Yeah, there were the geniuses that we were never going to get, like Alan Curbishley and Martin O'Neill, but the likes of Ian Holloway, Iain Dowie, Martin Allen, Billy Davies etc. were all looking for jobs this time last year and we ended up getting Jim Magilton!! (Not that I'm complaining now, but it had me bloody irritated at the time!)

Well as I said in a previous post in this thread, one of the positives about Milan Mandaric is his ambition - he can attract people like Jewell and Coleman and that's just the kind of manager we need. I am almost 100% certain Pearce won't come here - after all he did say that we were the only club he'd never play for! To be honest though I'm bored as hell with all the rumours flying about, I just want someone, whoever it may be, to be employed so we can get the ball rolling towards a successful campaign next season.

That's how I felt last year. I saw all the good managers getting snapped up because Ipswich were taking too bloody long. We appointed Magilton on... I think it was 6th June 2006... but because of all the pissing about trying to sort a manager and THEN the pissing around with new backroom staff, we didn't sign any new players until 2nd August, just 3 days before the start of the season. Leicester cannot afford to leave it that long - Mandaric's money must be taken advantage of by snapping up the best names as soon as possible, cos I can't see this squad making a good start to the next campaign, regardless of optimism.

Mandaric couldnt afford me 2. I'd rather lick a nettle!

Coleman misses out on Foxes job Milan Mandaric has ruled Chris Coleman out of the running to become Leicester City manager. Coleman, who left Fulham in April, was thought to be among the favourites to be the long-term replacement for Rob Kelly at The Walkers Stadium. The former Wales international has spoken to owner Mandaric about the position, which has been filled on a temporary basis by Nigel Worthington. But Mandaric has confirmed that Coleman is not on his final short list to become Leicester's next boss. "Chris is a great manager, a good lad, but he's not on the list," Mandaric told Sky Sports News. Neil Warnock remains in contention to take over in the East Midlands following his departure from Sheffield United last week. Mandaric hopes to make an appointment by the end of this month and confirmed that Warnock is on the short list. He added: "Yes, I talked to Neil, he's one of the candidates, so are three or four other people, so we'll see what happens. "Neil has got good experience in a hard division. He's done it, he's been there, but again I'm not ruling out other people." Looks like it's gonna be Colin then

I'm now hearing that Martin Allen is MM's first choice - definitely would rather have him than Warnock.

Hoddle's your man and will bring sweet passing around the centre circle and a lot of 1-1 draws but then I'm sure you will welcome that.

Official Statement
Leicester City have today confirmed that they have been given permission by MK Dons to speak to Martin Allen with regards to the vacant managerial position at the Walkers Stadium.
Chairman Milan Mandaric has drawn up a short-list of managers as he continues in his search for a new boss.
And Mandaric will now hold formal talks with Allen later this week as part of the ongoing recruitment process.
I've been told that he's been offered the job and it will be confirmed tomorrow.
