Stephen Hughes finally off to Scottish side Hearts. Their manager says they didn't do any scouting on him last season but know his qualities. HA!!! More fool him! Thank fuck for that, best transfer news of the summer. We're also set to sign Marco Ferriera from Benfica on a seson long loan with an option to buy for £550k. Happy with this. Good rumours which seem as if they will happen soon! Good good! He was the most infuriating player to watch last season. When Allen first came in and said he wasn't interested in his players "fluffing the ball about", Hughes was the first one that came to mind!

Hes scored some good goals but hes just too much of a lightweight...doesn't get stuck in and fades completely out of games all too often.

Marco Ferreira of Benfica & a FORMER Portuguese international joins Leicester on loan.
A pacy dribbling type of midfielder not afraid to shoot when required.

Clearly another Mandaric signing. Given he's been rumoured for a while, he could probably only get him in with Allen out of the way. Still I'm reasonably happy with this, we need a decent wide player. Don't know much about him, but his pedigree is good so lets hope he's a star signing from the chairman!

We were rumoured to be getting this guy a while back so its obviously Milan's idea. Perhaps he was a sticking point with Allen but whatever, he is here now and Allen has left. Mandy may as well be the manager proper, would save us money! wouldn't rule that out rich...

I'm a bit worried about this. Clearly any signing made while there's no manager at the helm is the chairman's doing. So it seems then that given a manager with the character of Martin Allen was sacked, we'll ultimately end up with someone who only ever does the chairman's bidding.
Frankly, I don't want a manager like that. You need some form of tension between the manager and the board to prevent the place from becoming an autocracy. With all due respect to Milan, what does he know about team management? Ok, he's been in the game a while, but he's not got a football brain - he's a businessman, that's it.

I think its OK for Milan to have a say and put forward his ideas, afterall its his club and his money. He hires the manager to manage but in the case of Martin Allen he only really had contacts in the lower leagues. Milan has them in the Prem and abroad, thus allowing us to get hold of Kaebi and Ferreira. He can use these contacts imo but if the manager doesn't want the players and would prefer others, it should be the manager's decision!

Djeziri signs on loan until the end of the year...another striker...just 18...played for Rangers youth/reserves last year. Seems odd, can't be near the first team yet we've signed him on loan. Thats it Milan, get all the players you want in now, before the new manager comes in....

Apparently Ian Dowie is being courted by Leicester after the club missed out on him last time.
Wouldn't that be funny! Well it would for me as I don't particularly like the sky blues and everyone around here is a cov fan. Top of the league and we pinch their manager - superb!
Can't see it happening though somehow. Dowie seems another no nonsense manager to me, so I think it would be a case of like-for-like after Martin Allen's departure.

I think Dowie is having issues with their board and he would have come to us over Cov if he had the chance earlier on when he was being touted. But he mst have seen what happened with Allen, so no chance! And Cov won't let him go easily.
