Reports in the press are suggesting that Leicester are targeting 22-year-old Gillingham midfielder Matt Jarvis. According to The Sun ( ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) ) Rob Kelly is lining up a £1m bid. Jarvis is out-of-contract in the summer with Plymouth and Nottingham Forest both failing at different stages in negotiations for the player earlier this season. A Gills spokesman says despite the reports, they are yet to receive any new bids (as reported on TEAMTalk Football News). (Well seeing as I'm always posting Ipswich rumours... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) )

If Rob Kelly does make a £1m bid for Jarvis, it'll be a clear example of a club now having money to play around with - Forest had only made a £650,000 bid which got as far as negotiations with the player's agent.

I don't think we should be spending £1million on him, his contract runs out in the summer after all ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) But I'd love it if we signed him, he looks a great player and much better than the jokers we currently have in the middle of the park.

He's a player I hear quite a lot about. 6 goals this season from midfield, although bear in mind that's League One level, but he'd probably do a similar job to Ipswich's Gary Roberts... ...and if he does, you'll have a real star there. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

He doesn't score as many goals as he should, but I'll happily take 6 goals a season from a midfielder after watching our inability to create anything from there for 3 fucking seasons!

I'd take Jarvis over Hughes, Johnson, Jarrett, Yeates, Tiatto, Newton, Porter and anyone else who I missed off!

Lol! I think you'd still have Porter and Tiatto, perhaps Yeates... where IS Yeates, by the way?! He was nowhere to be seen on Saturday! AND Horsfield! What's the point of loaning people in if you're not going to use them? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

I think I need my head checking, especially as I've got Plymouth away on Monday.... ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

would be a good signing, promising times ahead for leicester? Yes, welcome back, Rich, even though I know I've already said it on the Welcome board. Strictly no streaking these days, please. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) All right, I agree - Horsfield only had one good game (which thankfully I was there to see!) but do you think he's technically worse than Hammond? Lol! Promising times indeed may be ahead. Wouldn't rule out a playoff charge next season. More than I can say for Ipswich (unless Francis Jeffers decides to stay a little longer...)
