Newton Lands Foxes MoveLeicester City have today completed the signing of West Ham United winger Shaun Newton on loan until the end of the season, subject to Football League approval. Newton, 31, arrives at the Walkers Stadium with a wealth of experience, having represented Charlton Athletic, Wolves and the Hammers during his career. The player becomes City boss Rob Kelly's fifth capture of the year - but it is not thought that the deal will be completed in time for him to be involved in Saturday's Championship clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Kelly said: "We are really pleased to have got him. There were a number of other Championship sides who were in the chase for Shaun, but I think he has seen that we are a club moving forward. "He's played in the Premiership this season and brings a lot of experience to the club. "I believe he has been promoted from this level four times during his career - so he certainly knows what it is all about. "He's quick and direct. He's an honest professional and we know exactly what we are getting with him. "I am sure that he will prove to be a good acquisition." Newton moved to West Ham from Wolves in March 2005 and was part of the side who gained victory over Preston North End in the Play-Off final at the Millennium Stadium later that year. He has made six appearances for the Hammers since the turn of the year - the most recent in their defeat to Charlton in February. Not impressed at all with this signing.
