What a result, even though we were absolutely dreadful. Finally we play shit against Burnley and win and not the other way around! 2 bogey teams defeated away from home and a win against Coventry in the middle - scoring 6 goals in the process and conceding none, what the hell is going on?!
That must be one of the worst performances I've seen all season, we didn't deserve to be within 3 goals of Burnley but somehow we managed to nick it. The last 20 minutes was the worst display of 'keep ball' I have ever ever seen and God only knows how we managed to keep a clean sheet.
Player ratings:
Henderson 8 Another extraordinary clean sheet. Kicking was suspect once again though.
Maybury 7.5 Did very well, was the only one who tried to play football out of defence rather than hoofing it.
Kisnorbo 7 Left for dead in the air on a couple of occasions and lucky to come away with a clean sheet.
McAuley 6 Marking was absolutely terrible from Burnley corners and free-kicks, he was also hung out to dry a couple of times in the air. Should've scored as well.
Nils 6 Burnley got a lot of joy past Nils, too many crosses came in from their right wing but he did hold up pretty well.
Yeates 5 Reminds me of Ryan Smith, good skill on the ball but no final product whatsoever.
Johnson 4 We've got our Johnno back I'm afriad, no energy, no drive, no creativity, we were torn apart in the middle of the park. I knew the good performances were too good to be true, he was anonymous and ineffective for the whole of the 90 minutes.
Jarrett 5 Little contribution but huffed and puffed.
Porter 6 His hard work lead to the goal but wasn't helped by his inept team-mates at all as not one worthwhile pass was made to Levi.
Hume 6 Couple of shots from the edge of the area but other than that it was just effort without effect. I was shocked when he was substituted as he was the only one with any spark whatsoever.
Horsfield 5 All of a nothingness really, won a few flick ons but other than that not much to say.
Sub: Hughes 8* Although he only came on in the second half he really made a difference, a couple of really nice through balls from which Hammond should've scored.
Hammond 2 Disgrace.
Travelling support wasn't bad good, quite a few made the journey and after the Steward had got bored of telling us who wanted to stand to sit down the atmosphere really took off and we were in full voice at the final whistle.
Bring on the Baggies!
Kelly's contribution: 0 (I won't condone that sort of football from anyone or for any reason, win or not)
