Leicester City 1 v 1 Luton Town
Leicester manager Rob Kelly has set his side a 16-point target from their next 16 games to secure their Coca-Cola Championship status for another season after they were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow strugglers Luton. The Foxes, now seven games without a victory in all competitions, lie just three points clear of the drop zone on 34 points.
Kelly believes his side will have to dig deep if they are to break the magic 50-point barrier which should guarantee their future in England's second tier for another year.
He said: "Myself and my players have to approach the remainder of the season knowing we need a minimum of 16 points from our remaining 16 games. I think everyone looks at the 50 points initially and they're not going to be easy to get.
This just sums him up in my opinion, happy with average. In that case you can fuck off Rob, you may be happy with 16 points from 16 games but I certainly am not. What kind of message are you sending to the players? Just play for a draw every game lads and we'll be fine? You should be setting the stall out for 48 points, not fucking 16. Fair enough if you think we only need 16 points to stay up but keep that to yourself for Christ's sake, it's hardly what the fans and players want to hear is it? This club is going nowhere (positive) with Rob in charge and statements like this just make me want him out even more. I'm disgusted with that comment.
"You saw today there's going to be a lot more games in this division between teams at the wrong end of the table scrapping away. I didn't think there was a lack of effort or commitment from either side, they both battled.
If that wasn't a lack of effort or commitment then I dread to see what is. It was a disgrace from start to finish - if there was one player out there who wanted to play for the shirt then please enlighten me
"I can understand the supporters' frustrations. We just have to focus and make sure we win football matches."
Make sure we win eh? Simple as that is it Rob? I tell you what it isn't with you in charge, football is a simple game if you get back to basics and put a starting line up out who will actual compete and are fully fit. But week after week your starting line up includes 1,2,3,4 players who are unfit or out of position, that is no way to go about winning matches. And as for understanding my and other supporters frustrations you can fuck right off - you follow the team week in week out, spending money that you don't really have and could be spent on a much better cause and then tell me how frustrated you are. You travel all the way to Fulham on a freezing Wednesday night to see your team throw away a 3-1 lead and tell me how frustrated you are. You see your team that you've followed and supported all your life with a gutless and tactically inept manager at the helm and the club languishing in 18th place in the table, a meagre 3 points from the drop zone and then come and tell me how frustrated you are. Fuck off.
Mark Yeates enjoyed a dream debut scoring the Foxes' opener after six minutes before substitute Dean Morgan rescued a point with a 33rd-minute header.
Kelly was delighted with the contribution of Yeates, a loan signing from Spurs, and another new arrival from the Premiership, Sheffield United forward Geoff Horsfield.
"For Geoff to get 90 minutes was 20-25 minutes more than I thought he would. He's a naturally fit individual and he actually looked like he was getting stronger as the game went on," he said.
Just stop talking now for the love of God, he was fucking useless. There's no way he should've got 90 minutes today, he did nothing all game. What a waste of money paying his and your wages until the end of the season.
"Mark is a talented player. It was great for him to score with probably his first touch for the club, but he has not played a great deal of football either. But there are some promising signs there."
Maybe so, but if you don't tell the other fuckwits to pass to the lad how the hell is he meant to do anything?!
