Kelly Gives Honest Assessment
Rob Kelly had 'no excuses' following Saturday's 4-1 defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday at the Walkers Stadium.
The Foxes fell behind to a controversial penalty in the 43rd minute, and that event would set the tone for the rest of the game.
Paddy McCarthy was sent off for what was adjudged to be a second bookable offence in the 50th minute of the contest, and Wednesday would double their advantage shortly afterwards.
City looked to have got themselves back into the game moments later when a Stephen Hughes deflected effort found the net, but for all their pressure the Foxes would be punished by two tremendous strikes at the other end to seal the points for the visitors.
Kelly said: "The defeat has left me feeling empty. In the end we have lost 4-1. We find ourselves at the wrong end of the table and that's three points gone.
"It's reality and we have got to deal with it. We will dust ourselves off, come in on Monday morning and work hard to turn it around.
"I didn't think it was a penalty, but that's it - we move on. I don't want to talk about the referee. I will let his performance talk for itself.
"What I was pleased about, if you can take anything from it, was the fact that we didn't lie down and we didn't pack in. I also thought the supporters were good - they stuck with us.
"Their 'keeper has made two very good saves when the game was at 2-1, but then we were hit by two wonder strikes.
"We now have a choice - and our choice will be to come in on Monday morning and work even harder to turn that bit of luck or bit of fortune round our way. If we keep working that will even itself out eventually.
"We won't make excuses and we won't feel sorry for ourselves. In the end we have lost 4-1 to Sheffield Wednesday, which is a bad result. That is down to me because I am the manager.
"I put the players out there. They worked very hard in the week. We will stick together in this difficult time and battle our way through it."
You can tell Rob knows that he's out the door in Jan when Milan's in. If he's not gone, then I may well be.

Terrible result, has to be said. I was annoyed too when I saw McCarthy had got sent off. Mind you, Leicester still have to go some to beat Ipswich's disciplinary record this season. Get a hold of a copy of The Times on Monday and in The Game supplement, take a look at the Championship's disciplinary table near the back.
That's the only table we'll be topping this season...

I like Rob Kelly, but this just isn't working now. Bit of the post-Levein-sacking high, second half of last season, do you think?

How many times has Paddy been sent off? Seems to be far too often I think it's his first sending off this season, but he's had 6 yellows already, god knows how many from not keeping his gob shut. Some role model and captain

I like Rob Kelly, but this just isn't working now. Bit of the post-Levein-sacking high, second half of last season, do you think? Rob isn't the man for the job and he needs to go. Not 10 months ago, Rob Kelly took over a team of no-hopers racing toward relegation at a frightening pace, and instilled belief and fighting spirit. 10 months on, essentially the same band of no-hopers are playing with the same lack of belief and fight that we witnessed in the later days of Craig Levein. The ghost of Craig Levein still hasn't left the club, but will do once Rob Kelly and Stowell leave, what we need is a fresh start and a totally clean slate.

Sent off twice last season at least as well I think? Am sure he was one of the half dozen or so sent off us against last year
